Hey this is a fun game. Real people: rickandcindy of course, PJ, Beaglemom, dmorea, Tahoejoe, DeniseM, passepartout, Awaywego, Steve the moderator, Carolinian, Yumdrey and gregT, off the top of my head. And adible, who gave me a Newport Coast week he couldn't use- completely free except for the GC.

I met a TUGger in Cancun last year, Ilene13, very nice & interesting lady.

Geoffrey Chaucer, hands down. That dude was a hoot, I'm sure.

Second choice: Wm. Shakespeare.

Third choice: Li Po and Tu Fu, together in one room at the same time, with the ability to understand classical Chinese.

Yes, those, too, AND Oscar Wilde ! Anyone who is credited with those last words is someone I'd love to meet.

I want to add Mark Cuban to my list.

And if we're going with dead folk, I'll add:

Einstein
Tesla
DaVinci
Galileo
Newton
Socrates
Plato
Aristotle
FDR, Jesus and God.

Not neccessarily in that order.

I would like to go food shopping with Ina Garten, and to watch a baseball game with Bob Costas and Don Orsillo while they're not working in the booths.

Dead, Peter Jennings.

Met Clinton

This seems strange...the two names that come to mind first are Lady Ga Ga, and Bill Clinton

I cant say why, but Id like to understand a little better, how they think. Both impress me in the same way, knowledgeable and thoughtful

I think I could learn a lot from either one

I may have actually met Bill Clinton...I think we both used to frequent a bar called The Tombs, in the basement of the "1789" in Georgetown (Washington DC) in the late 1960's
I met Bill Clinton in San Francisco at one of the piers when he was running for office. We were there doing a karate demonstration. It was kind of funny because he hardly had any bodyguards but Willie Brown who was also there had tons.

Two thumbs up - and you're both on my list! As is RosePink of course, Passepartout, Ace2000, Elaine, Denise and Denise, Fern, Heathpack, Pianodinosaur, Vacationhopeful, Zac495, BoaterMike.....and many many more...pwrshift...awaywego, Troggie, Ricoba..... Geekette, Ken555, SDKath, Liz, PGnewarkboy, glypnirsgirl, laurac, and ScoopLV...and more....

the only problem would be we'd all be talking at once!

Wow, I feel honored, unless of course there are two Laurac's on here!

Hmmm, interesting thread. Let's see:

I think I'm probably going to turn this into a bucket list, but here goes:

I'd like to see Prince perform. Yes he's a bit quirky, but he has incredible talent.

I'd really, really like to meet Freddy Mercury. Yes, I know, dead, but he was also amazingly talented, and painfully misunderstood.

I'd like to have a day with my grandma. She was born in 1901. Her dad used to take her to watch the Wright Brothers fly their planes. I wish I had asked more questions about her life when I had the chance.

Ok, enough dead people. I'd like to see George Clooney up close, and Jason Statham too, especially if all his shirts are in the wash that day, :p I'd like to meet Martin Sheen so I can ask him if he remembers my parents when he was growing up, I'd like to have a couple drinks with Ron White, I'd like to have an intellectual conversation with Marilyn Manson (turns out the guy is very insightful and intelligent, I'd like to find out what makes him tick), I'd like to laugh my @$$ off with Richard Pryor (yes I know, dead), or Robin Williams. I'd also like to have a political conversation with Karl Rove, only because he is one of the most politically brilliant people I have ever seen in action. His behaviors may be at best questionable, but his mind processes politics on a level I have not ever seen, and I'd like to have a completely off the record conversation with him about current and historical politics.
