While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Jake Shimabukuro

Jake Shimabukuro

Jake Shimabukuro is an amazing artist. If any of you are visiting the Big Island he will be playing at the Slack Key Masters Concert on November 7 and as a solo performer on November 8. The concert is in Waimea at the Kahilu Theater. This is a small, beautiful not for profit venue (ww.kahilutheatre.org).

Jake on the ukulele is like Rodrigo y Gabriela on guitar. (If you're not familiar with Rodrigo y Gabriela, watch their rendition of Stairway to Heaven. It's enough to make Jimmy Page's guitar not-so-gently weep).

Thanks for the heads-up on both of these fabulous artists!

While I have followed a few links to YouTube videos, I have to say that early on it seemed they were mostly 'My dog's (or kid's or spouse's) stupid tricks'.
Maybe it's just me, or that other people are taking this more seriously, but it seems the overall quality of YouTube offerings has improved.

While you're over at YouTube click on some of the other links for RyG's music. To my unknowledgeable eye, their playing on Diablo Rojo is even more impressive. One of the Diablo Rojo links is from a guest appearance they did on Letterman.

Thanks, Steve...These are great! I never realized such marvelous music could come from a ukelele. I've been So sheltered! ;) And RyG are amazing...Jean

Incredible! I am awed.
