We are staying at Tahiti Resort in Las Vegas and were pleasantly surprised to have a gas oven. First time I've ever seen a gas oven at a timeshare.

Are there other Timeshares with gas ovens?

Wouldn't you be concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning with gas?

I’ve seen a few in New England. Village Green in Stowe and one of the Attitash units.

I've never seen a gas range in a timeshare unit.

I wouldn't want to stay in a resort that had them.

I will take gas over the old electric coil ones.

I use gas at home and and don’t have a preference between electric induction or gas.

Too hazardous? Guest might leave on gas and explode?
Poor indoor air quality with gas. I wanted gas in my new kitchen but the code required a massive amount of air circulations that would have cost me an extra $15,000. I said no thanks. I'll take induction.

We prefer an electric oven and have a Viking dual-fuel range with gas cooktop and electric convection oven. Best of both worlds.

HGVC Valdoro in Breckenridge, CO and HGVC Sunrise Lodge in Park City, UT have gas ranges in all units (and gas fireplaces).

How many gas ranges do you have at home? How many gas ranges would there be in whatever resort we're talking about? How many guests at that resort are unfamiliar with gas ranges? How many guests at that resort are fouled [euphemism] up part of the time?

My point is it only takes one guest that is unfamiliar with gas or just plain stupid. Odds of something going wrong are a lot higher at that resort than they are at your home.

This is why we were really surprised to see one. My wife loves cooking on gas stoves over electric, but was surprised they would have them for safety reasons.

@chapjim

In NYC alone there are literally thousands of high rise apartment buildings.
I would estimate that the vast majority have gas ranges.

Yes there have been fires. But I think most people can handle a gas range in a TS resort.

Regardless. Most of the TS's I have visited have electric ranges.

Some have had gas fireplaces.

My gas stove will shut the gas off if the flame goes out on a burner. I thought that was a safety feature on all gas stoves. My smallest (simmer) burner is at the front and if it is on low, and I open the oven door quickly, the suction of air rushing into the oven will cause the flame to go out. Then I'm waiting for something to cook and there is no flame!

I much prefer cooking on gas than electric but an induction burner is even better. I have a portable induction burner that we used when camping as it could be plugged in at the picnic table. I also have one in our apt in Belize, it keeps the kitchen much cooler than cooking on anything else.
