We're staying at the HGVC International for a week in Oct. but I am planning on staying a few extra days with my younger kids (14, 12, 7) while dh goes back to work and older kids go back to college. Here is what is available for short stays at II...what should I choose?

Calypso Cay Vacation Villas
Cypress Point Resort
Liki Tiki Village
Marriott Royal Palms Resort
Marriott Sabal Palms Resort

Thanks,
Tamara

The Marriotts are a good choice because they give you full us of the World Center Marriott Hotel facilities, which look awesome.

Obviously my brain was shut off because I had another 2 pages of choices. So in addition to these...[QUOTE

Calypso Cay Vacation Villas
Cypress Point Resort
Liki Tiki Village
Marriott Royal Palms Resort
Marriott Sabal Palms Resort

[/QUOTE].....add these:

Parkway International Resort
Star Island Resort
Star Island Resort and Club
Westgate Lakes
Westgate Towers
Westgate Town Center
Westgate Vacation Villas

Any especially nice...any to avoid?

Thanks!

I have stayed at Westgate Lakes a few times - very nice units.
I have also stayed at Cypress Point - also very nice. (They also come well-recommended by a few regulars on this board who own there and you can see a lot of things that they've upgraded in this thread: http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70172)

Avoid Liki Tiki Village - just went to a TS preview there (really went for the Universal tickets). We were definitely NOT impressed.

I would go with Marriott Royal Palms. I heard it has recently been refurbished and you would have access to the Marriott World Center pools/facilities. Sabal Palms is supposedly being refurbished this year.

Thanks for your input. I also found a thread called "what's your favorite Orlando Resort" that gave me lots of information.
