Which area in Vistana [Resort] to request?

Hi all,

We have a Friday checkin at Vistana for a 2 bedroom sleeps 8 and since I havent been there in a few years was wondering which area you think would be best to request. Are all of the areas refurbished?? There will be children in our group. Any help that you can give will be appreciated.

Vistana Villages or Vistana Resort?

Is it an exchange? Starwood no longer accepts advance location requests on exchanges.

The whole resort just finished a complete renovation, so you can't go wrong.

Then if all units have completed the refurbishment which area would you request if you had children in your group so that you would be in the area that had the best pools & activities.

You'll get different opinions on this ....

Some people like the Fountains/Lakes area because there's a super pool, game room, etc. I really like the Lakes pool for toddlers (zero entry -- they love that!).

Overall, I prefer the older sections (less dense, more resort like). Falls and Springs are my favorites. Both are an easy walk to the Cascades super pool, mini golf, convenience store, etc. Falls only has two twin beds in the guest room -- so it's really only perfect for those traveling with two kids. Springs has two queen beds, so can accommodate more kids. Both have sofa beds as well, of course.

Generally, you're limited by check-in days. I'm not certain which sections have Friday check-ins (definitely the newer, "all float," sections have all 3 check-in days, but the older "fixed" sections have fixed check-in days). Denise may have a listing by check-in date in the owner resource section.

If you're a TUG member, the reviews section should provide tons of detailed info since the resort has been around for so many years.

You will only have access to units that are the same size, and number of guests, and same check-in day as your exchange. What does your exchange say?
