The Flamino Go pool is currently under going a major renovation. Not sure about the other pool.

But this is the Flamingo hotel, right? Not the HGVC property? And the Flamingo hotel pool is closed in winter anyway. Or, at least it was when we last stayed at the HGVC.

Cheers.

I've stayed at all 3. If you are using open season than the pricing at Trump ends up being the same even as the other locations even if the points are higher.

Compare what you are paying open season to what the points cost. Also plus or premium as likely the same price as standard, often a good time to try an upgrade. Trump likely has the largest rooms for a studio, it is very large.

Don't worry about it not being on the strip, it is close enough.

Trump isn't far from the Strip. It's all very walkable. If open season pricing is the same for all rooms I'd opt for Trump, probably a bigger room and more bang for the buck.

And OP mentioned using a car for much of their trip. In this case, the distance from the strip for Trump is not as relevant. Since we're generally walking, Trump is too far from the Strip, and too much in the middle of nowhere for us, so we'd never be interested in staying. With a car as primary means of getting around, the reviews and experiences say that the rooms at Trump make it worth a stay in a case like this.

Cheers.

I've only stayed at Trump on ClubPoints but I don't recall ever having to pay for the mandatory valet parking at Trump. If my memory is correct then the benefit of "free" (plus tips) valet parking for the car is a nice-to-have.

Yes, correct that is the main Go Pool.

The pool by HGV may not be closed, not sure how much noise and dust this may cause in the area though. Both times we stayed at Flamingo it was around new years, and we didn't even consider any of the pools..

Having stayed at all the properties in Vegas, and since you have a car my ranking is as follows: Trump, Boulevard, Elara, Flamingo, Paradise. Trump is complimentary Valet parking, and Boulevard has the parking deck out back and both are nice (Trump being nicer since the hotel claims to try and compete with Wynn). Elara has the Parking in the Miracle Mile Shops Parking Deck, and suffers from the general issues of having to deal with the nightmare that is being strip adjacent for driving. Flamingo has you parking across the street, and same issues with being strip adjacent. While Paradise is ok and has convenient parking, be prepared for lukewarm water for showers

From a driver's perspective Trump is definitely easier access in and out. Hop on Sammy Davis to I-15 to go anywhere while avoiding the Strip congestion entirely.

The Elara parking garage isn't bad, either, but traffic still gets backed up at center Strip around Harmon. And you still have to deal with parking it yourself, whereas at Trump it's a matter of parking in front, handing the keys to the valet and going about your business.

I haven't parked at Boulevard so can't speak to it.

thanks

some say the boulevard rooms are smaller and not all renovated. parking looks easy though.

The rooms at Blvd are definitely smaller, just read the sq ft size in the room description. For open season Trump is the best because it's the same price and the room is nicer. When staying on points, I prefer the Flamingo because the rooms are larger. Paradise is my second choice in vegas especially during silver season. Don't care for spending the extra points at Elara or Trump. Don't care for the smaller rooms at Blvd. But, to each their own. Valet parking at Trump is very nice and included for no extra cost.

We've stayed at Flamingo and Elara only -- and preferred Elara as a non-smoking venue. Will look into the others!

Best,

Just to be clear, all HGVC properties are non-smoking.

Kurt
Understood -- they may be non-smoking now.....but Flamingo stunk :(

It was a real bummer for us -- but happy to hear that other properties having moved to be non-smoking.

Unfortunately in Vegas it is a battle like Sisyphus had. While TSs generally cater to families, Vegas is not for the faint of heart and most come for the debauchery. TSs are ripe for big groups loving the incredibly low cost 2-3 bedroom suites for the group outing. They are literally 1/10 the cost for groups renting single rooms. Despite the threats of $500 fines for smoking, all types of smoke is infused into the furnishings.

The Flamingo Casino is older and has lower ceiling which makes it smell and feel smokier than some of the newer casinos. Of course you don't have to go to the casino to get to the HGV units, but I do consider what's near a resort when I am booking.

Eh, there’s some good casinos close by. It’s not my favorite, but Caesars is across the street. The Horseshoe, The Linq, Harrah’s and The Cromwell are super close while The Bellagio, Venetian and Paris are an easy walking distance away. We prefer to stay at Elara but really don’t like Planet Hollywood at all. We prefer Paris, The Bellagio and Cosmo.

The Flamingo has a great location so it would always be a great choice.

All things considered we tend to stay at Elara for our Vegas trips - seems to offer the most in terms of amenities we're looking for with an optimal location, just close enough to center Strip to be convenient but also far enough away to forget you're at center Strip. Trump comes in second. Blvd in third. Haven't stayed at Flamingo.
