For our dates our choices are:

Paradise 1BR LP
Boulevard 1BR EP
Trump 1BR 1BR

Open season. This is a short adults only anniversary trip. We won’t have a car. We’ll find some show to go to (any suggestions?) and a great dinner and a little gambling.

thank you

I haven't stayed at any of the above, but why not Elara? :) Great location (across from Aria and Cosmo). Elara is great!

Following so I hear what others have to say about these resorts since I haven't stayed at any of these.

The way I read their post, they are indicating that Elara didn't have availability for their dates, since they didn't list it as an option. Elara is usually the first LV property to sell out, so that makes sense.

If you are worried about being on the strip, I would go with The Flamingo. The Boulevard is way north on the strip making that pretty inconvenient as well.

flamingo also not available! actually all 3 of these locations are not ideal. so least bad i guess. but now that I look at it, Trump to the strip is only a 10 minute walk through the mall, which is fine. all are far far cheaper than comparable on strip properties, and we’ll use the savings for a show - O by Cirque is playing and we’ve never been to any Cirque show

Boulevard for best [HGVC] pool in Vegas. Very vibey and Instagramesque. Hot tub in the back for extra fake privacy (you think nobody sees you, then you realize there's also rooms in the building itself ;). Rooms are somewhat dated so that's a minus, and far from everything.

Paradise for super chill no crowds experience. Very small, and the pool is also small and meh. Best attention to detail in terms of service and housekeeping. Far away from everything. Rooms are standard HGVC - not Elara or Grand Waikikian standard, but not Boulevard/Marbrisa/Charter Club either.

Never stayed at Trump because of point costs.

Paradise is next to Westgate hotel and casino, where there is a monorail stop, you can ride it to lots of places on the strip. Of the three that's what I would pick. See one of the Cirque shows. Plenty of nice places to eat.

Added: I use Vegas dot com to book show tickets, it lists all the hot new shows.

Elara Pool is closed in the winter. I have used the Blvd pool/hot tub during Thanksgiving week so should be open. Not sure about the others.

If you haven't been to a show in Vegas, I recommend one of the Cirque shows.

I've been to each of the Las Vegas resorts multiple times. Of the three you list, I would pick Trump because the open season rates are the same and you are getting a higher point value unit for the same cost. It gives you a chance to check out Trump.

Boulevard is on the strip but away from the part of the strip that you would probably like to visit. You can take the bus down the strip. The units at the boulevard are the smallest of your options. I last stayed there a few months ago in a newly renovated room. I liked the new color scheme and furnishings much better than the older design. I'm not sure how much of the resort has been renovated.

The Paradise is the quietest of your options. It has larger rooms than boulevard. It is a walk outside to get to the monorail.

Both boulevard and Paradise have complete kitchens in the units if you want to cook. Trump has a two top stove burner but no oven.

The bathroom in Trump is by far the largest and most spectacular of the three. I'd recommend it just to experience the bathroom which has a jacuzzi. It's the most elegant of the three.

If you are going to use uber or lyft, the prices for all three would be the same to get to the bellagio if you are going to watch O. They are all about the same distance.

I've seen most of the cirque shows in Las Vegas. You can't go wrong with any of them. Have you considered LA Reve at the Wynn? It's about a ten minute walk from Trump and you can cut through the fashion show mall.

Overall, I use unit size, points needed, and location when picking a unit to stay on points. For open season, I pick the unit that would cost me the most points since the dollar cost is the same. For points stays in Las Vegas, my order of preference is
1. Flamingo
2. Paradise
3. Elara
4. Trump
5. Boulevard
3 and 4 because of point requirements. 5 because the units are more cramped compared to 1 and 2. But, to each his or her own. I typically do not use the resort pools on my stays.

Best wishes for a happy anniversary in Vegas.

Sorry, didn’t go back and read. If going to the strip is important, then I agree with @SmithOp and go with Paradise. Being that close to the monorail makes it easier to get to The Strip. You can get down to MGM and head across LV Blvd to get to the other monorail that will take you down as far as Mandalay Bay.

SmithOp had it correct and go see some shows. Not sure how long Love will be showing (will The Hard Rock keep it going after The Mirage is rebuilt into The Hard Rock), but if you like The Beatles, it’s a must see. If you get an opportunity, reserve night tickets for The Neon Museum. At night, the signs are all lit up and you get a tour guide. It’s a great visit.

I would pick Trump because it is a relatively easy walk to the part of the strip most people want to visit although the majority of the villas HGV own locate at the back of the tower with a view of railroad.

if all the Trump rooms have a Jacuzzi we're sold. i sleep with earplugs and wife isn't bothered by road or train noise and we don't mind walking a little. shell probably like being in the mall.

Paradise with the monorail as plan B.

Its a 48 hour winter visit and we are far too old for an Instagram pool scene anyway.

thanks everyone!

interestingly the HGVC room description of the 1BR says there is a wall oven.

Oh, Blvd had their pool closed for Christmas/NYE 2021. The only one with a functioning pool was Paradise but water was cold. Hot tub was fine.

whereas Elara was full one week sgo they now have availability through this weekend in various room types. so they hold back significant inventory for ?retail bookings but not OS or points. We are going this weekend so the release was somewhere between ten days and three days out.

we are happy staying at Trump but for future reference I suppose if I had checked hilton.com and seen lots of 1 br availability at Elara I might have counted on a release to hgvc at some point, for either OS or points.

It could be a couple scenarios. The release could be HGV balancing the books with HHonors for people that converted their HGVC points. There has been a large deposit into RCI this week to balance those books.

It might also be developer owned units, including rofr'd, that they prefer a higher roi from selling on Hilton dot com.

Definitely. Over time we've seen them all, except the newest Mad Apple. Bought Back Friday tickets to this and going in October. Definitely a positive to Vegas.

To the OP's question, given that Elara and Flamingo, the Strippiest of them, are off the table, I'd suggest Boulevard as others have. Not the best location (but none of them are), but the amenities are very nice.

Cheers.

This Trump room is huge and very nice. We got upgraded to a corner room so we have a little view of the strip facing north. The trains are loud and just generally there is road noise which echoes off the hotels and from the freeway but it doesn't seem different than other strip-ish hotels I've stayed at. Also the room has two bathrooms, which isn't listed in the description.

The location is farther north than the main action. But adjacent to the new Resort Worlds which we plan to check out. Last night we walked to this Mexican restaurant which some have claimed is one of the best in America. we walked there at midnight only to discover it's in the same building as America's largest strip club. It turns out you can go to the restaurant without going in the club but we didn't realize til later. oh well!

giving paradise a try for an upcoming 4 night stay in January. rationale:

easy parking, and we will be there for an off strip event so we'll be driving off strip frequently

large rooms, good 2br for 4-5 people

all the other pools will be closed anyway but Paradise may have a hot tub open

we own here so why not?

4000 points for a 4 night weekend is under $150 per night all in. really can't beat that.

Things may have changed, but we have stayed a few times at Flamingo in winter, and the pool and hot tub were open.

Cheers.
