you have points available 2015 and of course points in 2016, you make a reservation for jan 2016 where will HGVC pull the points from, 2015 (If available) or 2016?

Because I am thinking where would the cutoff be in regards to needing to rescue points?

My guess is HGVC would pull the points from 2016 for a booking in 2016.

Your guess is correct. Rescue first if you want to use the 2015 points, which will become 2016 points.

This is not the same for points used in RCI, those reservations pull from all available, so that is a way to avoid the rescue fee, but then you pay the RCI booking fee.

For a January 2016 stay, your points will be drawn from your 2016 allocation.
It matters-not when you book the stay. 2015 points can only be used if rescued first.

The 2015 points expire at midnight on 12/31. But don't wait until 12/31!
HGVC's computers+call center get clogged the last few days of every year.
Wait too long, and you may find it impossible to get thru to do it.

Do the rescue first, then make your booking. I suggest two separate sessions.

You can use 2015 points to book an RCI stay in a future year w/o a rescue.
But if you cancel in 2016, they'll go "poof" unless you ask to rescue to RCI.

How will it work if you own EOYO and have 2015 points left over, but no points for 2016? Can you borrow points from 2017 in 2015? Where will points be deducted from?
