What is a good resort/time of year to possibly be able to see this?

Thank you!

Our home resort (The Beach Club at St Augustine Beach, RCI#0890) is right on the beach and has turtles nesting in the dunes. Several guests staying at the resort have posted photos of the turtles digging nests on the beach or the little ones heading out. Nesting season is May 1 to Oct.31st with momma turtle making about 3 nests during the season. All buildings along the beach must have special low lighting on the beach side during nesting season. We have only ever seen a momma turtle heading back to sea after laying her eggs once, I believe the babies head to sea at night. There is a conservation group in St Augustine which watches for nesting areas and stakes them off with caution tape so nobody disturbs them.

I would think you could see the same thing at most coastal resorts in Florida. Perhaps Google could find more specific areas.

You can see them at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. I really enjoy watching them. There are walks every morning with a conservationist that are very interesting

We have seen the sea turtles hatch and were able to participate in the nightly releasing of them into the ocean at the Grand Mayan (and associated properties) in Nuevo Vallarta during the fall. It was a highlight of the trip for our daughter.

I know that is not in Florida, but just some more info to consider.

Turtles come ashore at high tide/full moon to lay their eggs. The eggs take 45 days to be ready to hatch, then at the New Moon (very dark) high tide the babies all hatch at once and scramble to the surf. We've seen this in Hawaii, Puerto Vallarta, and other places. but the schedule and timing are similar.
