Hello! Since I will be heading to Kona next week  I am on a tight budget, and would love to do an excursion, but my budget can't handle more than 1.....so I was thinking I would pimp myself and DH and go on a tour or two in order to check out some of the other resorts and get a free gift to boot.

Where should I hang out to get picked up? What giveaways are they giving for TS there?

Any information would be appreciated.

There are lots of TS hawkers booths right downtown in the tourist section of Alli drive.

The real question should be, how to avoid being hit on by the TS hawkers. They are everywhere, it will be hard to avoid them.

You can get a $100 voucher for doing the Wyndham tour at the Kona Hawaiian Village which is on the main drag in Kona, a few blocks from the center of town (going north.)

TS tours

We were in Kona the first of July. Shell Vacation Club seemed to be offering the best discounts on activities. They are located on Alii Drive. It turned out to be a better deal than Wyndham's $100. We got a significant discount on a snorkeling tour with the Hula Kai, as well as an excursion to a ranch for a steak dinner. Definitely worth more than the $100.

Agreed. When we were there a while ago, we saved almost $500 in discounts on tours and activities. These were all things that we were going to do anyway, and I had researched all the prices, so it was well worth the 2-hour dog and pony show. Interestingly enough, we were at the Shell resort in Kauai earlier this year, and they would only give us a discount on ONE activity. Bummer! We still took it as it was worth it for us. Same thing ... not too high pressure, lasted about 2 hours.
