I only need 1 filer.

When I googled, I see a low price of $41.99, but it's website is BigHome Tax, and the retail is reduced from $46.99 (it's usually $70).

If you are using Deluxe...where did you buy?

I need turbo tax product to do a complex return and to do a trust return. Does anyone know which product that is and here it is on sale. I have not driven or gone shopping for two months due to medical treatments

I use to always buy Turbo Tax Deluxe with state tax filing at Costco. However, about a month ago, I bought it from Amazon about a month ago for $44.95 and it came with a $10 amazon gift card. Bringing the total cost of the Deluxe TT and the State filing to $33.95.
This was the product:

TurboTax Deluxe + State 2023 + $10 Amazon Gift Card [PC/MAC Disc]

Is driving to a store to buy a software product still a thing? I just logon to the turbo tax website and it is going to charge me $39 when I file. Everything is cloud based now days.

I am trying to read the box online so I can figure out which version I need. That’s the first problem. The second is I did order online last year. It did not work and after many calls they said it only worked on Mac, but that’s not what it said on order

I use TAX Act on line. Don't buy anything. Just pay to use it on line. I actually don't like Turbo Tax.

My son has a simple return and uses Tax Act online for free.

I file both a personal return and a trust return.

For the trust, TT Business (NOT Home and Business) prepares the 1041.

For my personal 1040, I use TT Deluxe (Federal + State). TT claims that TT Premier is better for complex situations, but I've never needed that. (Premier is more expensive.) In past years, Deluxe has offered me the option to upgrade to Premier as I worked my way through the program.

Sorry, but I can't help with current pricing. I bought my software about a month ago when Amazon ran a decent sale.

If you buy from Amazon, you can get the MAC and PC version of the program for download. If you have investments, you may need to buy the Premier version of the program.

You don't have to buy anything. You just start entering your information and they tell you which version you need to buy before your return if filed. You don't install the program on your computer anymore. The program is accessed via a web browser now days.

I own mutual funds, ETFs, individual stocks, and individual municipal bonds. TT Deluxe handles all of those without issue. Many moons ago, I owned a rental home. Deluxe handled that as well, as well as the later sale of the rental.

The trust had equities as well. TT Business took care of that.

Turbo Tax' website does not directly state that TT deluxe will handle stocks and investments.

I have a situation where I liquidated stock that was granted to me as a bonus program. This is a little more complex as I paid withholding on each tranche when they were awarded, so it is a more complex tax event.

I have never done it that way. Does it import previous years information when you do it that way?

I bought TT Deluxe at Costco for 44.99. It includes a $10 credit that can be applied to your choice of various options. In my case, since I moved and will be filing 2 state returns, I'll use it for credit on the second state purchase. Mine came with the CD or a D/L option.

I changed from TurboTax to H&R Block Tax Cut more than 10 years ago. This was due to a promotional cost that was less than half of TT. I much prefer the graphics of the H&R Block software; it just seems more professional, but I am sure the end result would be no different with TT. Bought this year's H&R Block Deluxe + State (PC/Mac Download) for $24.99 online at Office Depot. Picked up the packet today at the store (yes, driving to the store to buy software is still a thng). I am sure it will have no issues handling my Traditional and Roth IRA rollovers and the loss carry forwards from a K-1 (inherited).

I believe the H&R Block software will import last year's information from a TT return, if someone wants the lower software price.

TT Deluxe handles stocks and investments and can import 1099's from brokerage firms

Understood, and with normal stock purchases, the 1099s will be correct, but in this case, it will show that I was given the stock so the cost basis is 0$. There is another form that shows the value of the stock at the time of the grant and that I paid withholding on the grant. Add in the fact that this was done in several tranches and across two brokerages (the company had a brokerage where the grants were deposited and then they were transferred into my personal brokerage).

How do you install it since many of the new computers don't have floppy or CD drives anymore?
