So this is the results up until now. Percentages are wrong as they need to add 100%, seems they are doubling, I'll let Brian know but ratios seem correct.

More tuggers answered the survey then posted. What was posted had 118 versus 141 on the survey.

What was posted was similar, somewhat different on a few.
eBay 27.9 , tug 11%, developer 13.6%, Sumday 3.4%, timeshare nation 1%, red week 7.6%, resale thru hoa 9.3%, resale owner hoa 2.5%, RE agent 9.3%, other 13.6%

Other consists mostly from family gifted but also other online selling sites

What is clear is eBay is the most popular place we get our timeshares from but not a runaway, as we get them from many sources. The other sources that are popular were tug and and surprisingly the developer. Seems whether we didn't know better or did it purposely the developers have buyers as we know. Then follow by re agents and resale from HOA.

Thank you all my tugger friends for responding. Now I'm wondering where have we successfully sold or given away our unwanted timeshares., so look for that survey.

the percentages are correct....they are based on the number of people who have submitted a vote...not the number of votes cast.

since you chose to allow multiple votes per submission, the results are a percentage of those who voted who checked that box.

ie 59.7 of the people who submitted a vote, checked the top box.

Yeah, I know my "5" developer purchases seems really out of place in this context. I'll concede that one of these was a "mistake" (poor judgement) but I'm entirely OK with the others.

First two timeshare purchases were from Developers in 1984 and 1986. Found TUG in 2003 and quickly got rid of the 1986 Fairfield purchase, deeding it back to the HOA. Kept the 1984 purchase for over 25 years. Even though it was a "blue" week, we got many great years from that ownership through use and exchanges (back when you could consistently get great trades through RCI with less than prime weeks).

Probably bought 100+ on eBay since 2006, many through SumDay, and a few on Craigslist and TUG.

I am no longer a "player" in the buying game. :hi:

Two (2) developer purchases (I think 1998 & 2001). The next few came from TUG (Marketplace and forum) beginning in 2009 and eBay beginning in 2010. A few from Sumday (eBay and their website.) And one from the now-defunct bidshares website.
