I am trying to figure out the process to make a Home Week booking at the earliest possible time when the inventory is released. This would typically be week 52 where only 1 or 2 units are available at this particular resort. Last year, I was able to snag the week. But, I did notice then that the inventory didn't show up to be book for at least 5 minutes after midnight EST (of course, exactly 1 year before the first check-in date). This year, it was about 10 mins after midnight, but I am still not sure of the process. What I mean is (after inventory is released), then do I need to restart the whole Home Week Booking process again (in order for it to show up on booking calendar)? Obviously, when I tried to book 2022 week 52 Home Week reservation, someone else beat me to the reservation.

I think you have the right idea, the booking process has to restart in order to refresh the data you are seeing in your browser. I doubt any of us know the true answer to how long after midnight EST that is.

The n-tier architecture has several points where data is cached, the database server, the app server, the web server, your client browser. Restarting the booking process is the only option you have to force a refresh.

Thanks @SmithOp. You obviously know much more about "behind the scenes" on a large corporate DB. I will be trying again in a week, so I will try restarting the process more. I know exactly how to book a club reservation when the inventory is released, but I have only done Home Week once before. It is hard to test out theories when you are actually wanting the reservation. I already knew that there was only 1 available reservation for booking.

It may not be comforting but this same discussion is going on over in the Westin forum with people trying to get the holiday weeks at midnight, so its not only the HGV system.

I suspect the weeks are already in the database, but the query that pulls the data is limiting the date until the clock rolls over to the next day. Of course it could be designed where the new weeks get loaded at midnight and you have to wait for the batch process to complete before it commits the changes.

Club season is different because the weeks are already there from home season, so I’m sure that is a date limited query. In fact, when you try to advanced the date you will get the message about club season date range.

I think that both of your above points are correct. I know that I waited until exactly midnight to start the Home Week booking process the first time. Next time, I will just restart the entire process again.

Yep, though as I learned, sometimes you might want to check the exchange. They were having problems booking SDO for week 52 through Vistana, and I was able to book week 52 there through RCI even getting a 1BR Premium.
