What's Your Favorite Hard Candy?

I like lemon drops more than sweet hard candies. Tart. Sour. I can't say I have a favorite brand.

Candy, in general, is something I can- and do- live without. My DW says I am missing a sweet tooth. Maybe so. Sweets are just something I don't crave.

In the 70's during our annual combined Boy and Girl Scouts' Christmas banquet, we were given small boxes of a mix of hard candies. I think the boxes had handles on them and maybe pictures of reindeer? Does anyone else remember these?

Today is one of my sister's birthday. Her favorite hard candy has always been ribbon candy and with her birthday so close to Christmas she's always gotten boxes of it. It's funny that a few of us posted pictures of ribbon candy to her Facebook today.

Yum!

Horehound and wintergreen always remind me of my grandmother. You can find wintergreen (which I hate) pretty easily, but horehound (which I like quite a lot) is rare.

Claim Jumper restaurants give away a pretty good root beer barrel as you leave.

Hammonds

We recently took our grandkids to Hammond's for a tour. I agree on the cinnamon hard candy (any of them) because I love cinnamon.

The business has grown and changed a lot, but they still have a video in the beginning of the tour with the company's matriarch and her daughter-in-law, also a friend and actually my next door neighbor growing up.

This is a video showing how candy canes are made. Fascinating.

Just got a chance to watch the video. Amazing how large that candy was that became the candy canes! Thanks for that!

I don't like hard candy. In fact, I don't like candy at all or gum. I do like quality chocolate though, just not white chocolate (all sugar, yuck).

Not into hard candies too much, but if I had to pick one it would be peppermint hard candies, and horehound is ok.
DH loves ribbon candy and horehound.

Horehound?

Hated these ! My Mother always gave these to us when we had sore throats.

Old-timey remedy of sorts.

Yuck +1.

Did they work for your sore throat?

Yeh -- Maybe A Little, In A Semi-Odd Way.

Did they work for your sore throat?
The taste was so bad I mostly forgot about the soreness.
