What's on your Bucket List?

How about booking one that departs Amsterdam after you having a few days there to do Keukenhof AND Aalsmeer market at your leisure? Basil is AMA's home and HQ. Nobody does Rhine better (IMO). They also offer several that are just round trips from/to Amsterdam, and Keukenhof is an overnight port at least during Tulip Time.
That sounds great! I recall your great AMA experiences and it would be my first choice however we are going with friends in October on a Tauck Danube cruise as they chose the trip and had cruised Tauck before.

My bucket list is simple, wake up and get out of bed every morning.

34 yrs of military service covered a whole lot of things that would have been on my bucket list if I had ever created one. Another 20 in retirement and relatively good health covered the rest. Now that my heart is being pumped by battery power 24/7 I am just happy to still be able to play golf. Days of going to timeshares are over with. But, we did an awful lot of traveling during those 20 years so no regrets.

Best advice I could give anyone is live today like it may be your last. Life is too short to complicate it.

To visit all the Islands of Hawaii and to visit Vietnam.
Pedro, we have been to Vietnam 3 times, the last visit was to babysit our grandchildren for 4 weeks while our DIL took a course. Vietnam is a beautiful country with beautiful people.I hope you have the opportunity to visit.

While I cannot personally compare to your stories, I do 100% agree with this. While I know plenty of people are all plan for 20 years from now - the reality is any of us could die at any time. Even just in a car accident, forget about health issues. Even the people I know who lived to their 80s, a ripe old age IMO, found every year it is tougher to do physical things. So I always say, travel while you can. I've had a broken ankle that kept me bedridden suddenly for 3 months of recovery. I know I might not be able to run around in the future.

I've put stuff off before, and you can put stuff off, often for good reasons, forever. Do the stuff if you can. Don't hope that you can later on. My grandmother and my mother both outlived their spouses - that "travel in retirement" together never happened.

I figure I can always do less later on, and TBH I might prefer that.

Almost no one says in their last days "I wish I'd done less traveling or having experiences or making memories.".

I'm quickly approaching 60 and always thought my retired life would be filled with travel. I'm still a few years from retirement, but lately my body has become less tolerant of random springy mattresses. And after 4-5 days I'm wishing I was back home on my memory foam mattress. I haven't cut any trips short yet, but it has me rethinking that retirement travel life.

Is it just me?
How do others make out?
Travel Europe. In 5 trips we have yet to find a soft, springy mattress. In fact we sleep better on the firm ones common in Europe. I am only talking about The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and San Marino. It may be different in the UK.
