what to do in Pottsboro, TX in Aug

Tom is pretty close to right, lol!

Pottsboro is close to Lake Texoma. Lots to do there - boating, fishing, swimming, sailing.

Also, Pottsboro should be about an hour from D/FW, if that.
 
There is not much to do at all in the area other than the lake. Dallas would be a good 1 1/2 hours and Fort Worth 2 hours. We are not at all impressed with the area around Take Texoma, we are less than an hour away but I don't think we would ever use the time share there for lack of things to do in the area.
 
My husband drove for hours to get there and it was a wasted trip and a waste of an exchange. The resort is beautiful. But unless you plan on doing water sports or playing golf, because it is connected to a golf course, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Honestly.

Right. And if you don't like snow, Marriott in Breckenridge during winter would be a wasted exchange. This is all about the lake, which is HUGE. Not my cup of tea, but if you enjoy striped bass fishing, it would be as good as it gets. Or if you have a huge cabin cruiser, there's lots of them there, and lots of neat places you can only get to by boat, like bars/restaurants on islands. If you're not on water, avoid Texas during summer (which runs about 9 months of the year in North Texas).
