What should we do with our sick dog

{{ HUGS }}

Most of us have been there, and know what it's like. Along with the sadness, remember the good times with Sheba.

I still picture my cocker racing across the back yard, ears flapping, though she hadn't done that for years before she finally died. It's a happy memory.

Ben, hugs your way. Sorry that you lost your pet, but it is great that you were able to be there for her in the most loving way.

Sending you hugs. Not an easy decision but you know in your heart it was the best decision. As other have said, remember the happy times.

Ben,

Many, many prayers for you today as you struggle through this difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Jan

Been through it myself. A very difficult decision but I'm convinced it's the right thing to do. The pain we suffer so our pets don't have to. Take care.

Sorry for your loss Ben. I got choked up, as it brought back the memories of our dog that I mentioned we had to put down. Freckles was my very first dog, and I'm 54 y/o. It was very difficult, but again, the day does come. Our two dogs that we rescued since Freckles passing have filled the holes in our hearts though.

Enjoy your vacation, and know you'll meet again at teh Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So sorry for your loss. We've had four dogs that we had to put down, and it was never easy. Every time I hear of someone losing their dog, I think of Jimmy Stewart's poignant poem about his dog that he read for Johnny Carson.

So very, very sorry about what your going through :bawl: I know the pain can be unbearable will lift up a prayer for you and your family.

I am so sorry about your loss. I had to make the same decision for our Eskie-mix girl in November, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It sounds like you loved Sheba very much, and also that you did the right thing for her. Take care.

Ben, I'm so sorry for your loss. The deeper the love, the deeper the pain. Try to fixate on the joy Sheba gave you and how lucky she was to have you as her "person". She must have been very special for the vet to tear up.

Virtual hugs,

So very sorry for your loss. What a tough day.

I am also sorry for your loss. I'm sure it was a very tough decision.

Sue

Thanks you all so much for your kind words.

It will be difficult for a while, everywhere I look I think of Sheba, but know we did the right thing.

Ben, just wanted to say how sorry I am knowing how you feel. It's so hard to let your buddy go. You have a good and compasionate vet, the good ones never get used to it. Hugs, shaggy
