what rci trade available in outer banks

We are looking to possible trade thru RCI for a resort in the Outer Banks. We are points owner so we would transfer our points to RCI. Is there any easy way to see what resorts are available to trade thru Wyndham for the Outer Banks? I keep plugging in different dates but very few come up. I might even consider one that I can purchase thru RCI like the last minute deals, etc.

Any help would be appreciated. I know alot of you know your way around the systems so I hope I can learn. thank you all.

I just did a search in RCI for Outer Banks. Four resorts are listed. Two in Duck and two in Kitty Hawk. The resort numbers are #1008, #3679, #5005 and #5129. There is availability in May, late August & September. Each month does has very limited availability, 2 or 3 check in’s at the most. Hope this helps.

Herb, that may have been limited due to your search criteria or weeks you used to search with. I come up with 13 resorts with 873 units available in the Outer Banks. It's too late for much of anything for this summer but from Sept' 2012 thru Dec 2013 there's something every month; the summer much less so than the other months.

To the OP, when are you looking to exchange?

VCKempson how did you do your search? that is what I am looking for. We are looking at Mid May 2013 - June 2013. I was thinking of trying to do an ongoiing search for a particular resort, has to be on the beach, but I wasn't sure what RCI handled.

I also have some non Wyndham weeks in my RCI account. I just log on directly into RCI (not thru Wyndham portal) and do a search for the Outer Banks. For May 2013 there's 6 resorts with 23 units availalble and for June I see 5 resorts with 11 units, mostly for early June.

When I search thru the Wyndham portal for the same period, though, nothing comes up at all. Maybe there's a filter that won't pull up resorts that they deem to be too much of a downward trade in quality. I'd give them a call, manned with the above information and ask them to pull them up for you. If you haven't stayed at a timeshare there, don't be surprised at the step down in quality of either the units or the resorts themselves. Most are Beach Chic Shabby, if you know what I mean.

The mini-system portals are notoriously cranky; they sometimes show things that are in "regular weeks", and sometimes don't. If you know something is in "regular weeks", but can't see it in the portal, call. The RCI VCs seem to have a different tool that they use internally, and may see the inventory you are after.

If you have a "regular" weeks account and something deposited, you can search it yourself. IF you don't, just ask down in the Sightings forum for someone to search for you. OP: I will post what is there for you in a few more minutes. As you are a TUG Member, you should be able to see it.
