What is your favorite Pool Bar at a MVC property?

The former Pool Bar Jim's (and Jim) at Marriott's Grande Ocean resort on Hilton Head Island.

I'm still at a loss to understand Jim's evction from Marriott's Grande Ocean Resort. We are not supporters of that decision, unless, of course, MVC had good cause.
 
Which ever one I’m at for the moment.
I was a big fan of pool Bar Jim’s tho
 
Sea Salts at Surfwatch is probably our favorite. Also if we're expanding to the Vistana side both of the swim-up bars at Lagunamar are fantastic.

Sea Salts at SurfWatch is also an excellent favorite Marriott’s bar .
 
Our favorite is Sea Salts at SurfWatch as too. Another one is the swim up bar at Los Suenos but I guess that is not a true timeshare bar because it is part of the hotel complex.
 
I also like the Surf Club and Grande Ocean Pool Bars but I'll put in a vote for La Vista, the pool bar at Marriott Newport Coast Villas. It's set on a bluff overlooking the Pacific so the right seat at the bar can get you a view of the Pool and the Ocean down below.

Why don't any MVC or Vistana timeshares in the USA have swim up bars? Is there some rule against them. They seem to be more prevalent in Mexico and the Caribbean.
 
I find all of the bar and restaurants to be outragiously overpriced. Their "happy hour" are also a joke. $2 off a drink! Get real. We recently went to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix and had a $171 error charge to our room. I called and they said it was from the pool bar. Well it wasn't ours. My wife and I joked it was probably just a few drinks and a couple burgers. It doesn't take much to get to $171 with what they dare to charge for watered down beverages and frozen food from bags.

Last I read they are allowed in only 24 US States (with Michigan being the last state to change their laws allowing it). I know FL has a law stating food and beverage service facilities can not be located within 12 feet of the water's edge. They really are not a good idea. I still remember last time I was in Mexico, there must have been a few hundred people in the pool and every time I got out of the pool to go to the bathroom I was the only one in there. I am not sure the convenience of being able to get served a drink in the pool is worth the unsanitary conditions that go along with it.

I suspect that may put a damper on Andy's plan (General Manager of Ocean Point) to have pool service. Meaning order food and beverage at your pool chair and servers bring it to you. Many of the pool chairs are within 12" of the pool edge. Andy mentioned this during one of the owner update meetings I attended a couple years ago at Ocean Pointe.

Your response beat my edit but it is the Food and Drink Service Facilities can not be located within 12' of the pool, not that they can not be served within that space. Thus, there are no FL swim up bars, at least not legal ones.

I don't expect the Marriott timeshares to be like a hotel/resort. I would rather walk to the bar/restaurant to get a drink and pay less for MF's for staff and facilities. GM's like Andy don't realize that many owners don't want to pay a lot for buttons and whistles for services that we seldom use. If they continue to increase MF's like they've been doing recently, timeshare ownership costs will be unaffordable to many of us.
 
The best MVC Pool Bar in the world is easily MOC. The view. The characters. Charlie, Sammie, Johnny....
 
Westin Lagunamar in Cancun has a swim up bar with real food from the pool bar. The very large pool extends to an infinity edge overlooking the beach and the Caribbean. This resort is available now with Destination points. Interval Exchanges too.

At Surfwatch this week and Sea Salts has expanded their menu, adding a "Game Day" menu for the weekends and they also continue to have the NFL Sunday Ticket (five TVs total).
 
Pool bars...have not been to any where you are physically in the pool ordering/consuming...I understand drinking from a stool in the water...but eating for some reason grosses me out...what if food falls into the pool, either pre or post-chewed?
