Besides the obvious, giving people a heads up regarding possible exchanges, is there a better way to use the sighting page.

For example, if your deposit doesn't see the possible exchange online, has anyone had success calling and requesting the exhange by phone?

Perhaps the advise could be pinned to the top.

If your resort doesn't see the exchanges on line that others can see, that usually means it doesn't have the trading power to be exchanged for those resorts. You certainly can call the exchange company and ask, and sometimes that works.

I am going to move your post to the exchanging board, which is the best place to discuss exchanging.

I scan them every day, but not necessarily because I'm looking for an exchange. The reason I look is that it helps me understand the patterns that developers (and, sometimes, individual owners) follow in deciding when to deposit. Even though it's not always completely accurate, it's very valuable information for future planning.

With which exchange company does calling to get an exchange that you can't see, but you know is there, sometimes work?

Sometimes the problem is not insufficient trading power, but a VEP that is too high. One of my favorite resorts had a very low VEP. So low that none of my resorts could pick it up on a search or see it online when it was available. If I heard about a week there, I could call and ask for a VEP waiver. Then it was mine. I had to know about the weeks first, though. Very frustrating through the years.
