I received an email with a $4.99 credit for each button you purchase for $4.99 for a limited time only. Anyone going to try this? I am not sure how useful it will be, as I don't think I use any of the products offered on an ongoing basis that would make it worthwhile.

I don't see the point. If you order anything through your Echo/Amazon connection, you can re-order it by telling Alexa. No need to go rummaging around for a button.

The buttons are so subsidized by big fmcg firms to lock you into their product and never consider an alternate.

That's what I was thinking. I already use Alexa for that at times. I was thinking maybe I was missing something, but I guess not.

Yes- that was the other thing - and I already use s"ubscribe and save" for things I use on-going. I like that Amazon sends an email before those ship so you can review the prices and even decide whether or not you really need the item for the current shipment.

As do we.
As our house is seventh generation for diapers and paper towel and toilet cleaner etc and there are no buttons for them, just pampers and Charmin I've never got one.
Some of my home automation friends are trying to hack them to use in other home automation uses :)
