What are the chances for this exchange request?

I put in an II on-going exchange request to trade my 2BR Branson Willow Ridge (July 4th week, last year) for Orlando Lakeshore Reserve for check-in December 19th - December 27th, this year.

I have seen several December 18th weeks pass by, but I cannot check in until at least the 19th.

This request has been in for about 3 weeks so far (I know I am late in the game).

Whatcha think? Any chances?

I may wait another few weeks and then add Grande Vista and some others to my search, to better my chances.

You pointed out that it's late in the game, and it's also the holiday weeks. I would add as many of the Orlando resorts as you would care to stay at. Also, do you need 2BR? GV might have a 1BR come through.

Good Luck, if you are flexible something will come through. There are always cancellations.

take the 18th if you see another, and rent an extra night if you must have it......and you could also RENT DC Points and add that night.

good afternoon...

I don;t mean to be a negative Nellie..but yiu are trying to get Xmas at Lakeshore...one of the top of the line Marriott's with a Branson week . Even if it is July4th Ithink your chances are almost Zero, unless you are wiling to take a 1 bedroom... Expanding to GV or some of the other Orlando's does increase your odds to about 20%... I would be willing to bet that Xmas is platinum plus at Lakeshore...

just my humble opinion..

sorry...

I appreciate your honesty!
I agree that it may not go through... there is a chance I guess.
I did see a 2BR available on the 18th when I first initiated the search... I should have grabbed it and just forfeited the first night. Keep thinking maybe another could pop up since it is the week prior to Christmas.
I'll give it another week or so, and then start adding other resorts to the request, and see what happens.
Thanks for the input.

I would do this as well and arrive in the morning as opposed to 4 pm so that at least I didn't waste a day and add on a night using DC points or check for discounts for one night using the owner discount or elite status discount.

It likely depends how much you prefer to stay at Lakeshore vs. knowing you have a Christmas week. I just searched with my 2 bedroom Cypress Harbor 2016 Easter Week. The following is available for instant exchange. You could purchase eplus and try to upgrade to Lakeshore later.... or wait and see what is still open in another week or two...
- MCH 2 bedroom 18th check in
- MGR 1bedroom 18th or 19th check in / - MGV 2 bedroom 18th check in
- MHZ 1bedroom 18th and 2 bedroom 19th check in
- MRP 2 bedroom 18th check in

Summary: there is only one 2 bedroom open on the 19th at Harbor Lake "MHZ" but Cypress and Grand Vista and Sabel Palms have 2 bedrooms on the 18th. Nothing shows on any date for Lakeshore. Good luck

'ppreciate the info. FYI. I am a legacy weeks owner; not a part of the points system...

Have a DC points owner rent the extra night for you.

It seems that you have the trade power since you were able to see an 18th checkin. So the only question is, will a checkin of the 19th become available and someone else with higher trade power not get it.

I have had SEVERAL rental requests for Sat Dec 19 checkin only as NO ONE wants to packup and MOVE on Christmas morning.

It taught me to READ the calendar better regarding checkout dates ... sometimes MORE important than the checkin date ...

ADDED: NO one WANTS my Dec 18th checkin days ... which are NOT RENTED.... that is my point. Sorry, if I was not clear. I read this post and recognized similar (but opposite) problem as the landlord. My Dec 19th checkin dates are GONE/rented.

Christmas is on a Friday this year. So if they were checking in on the 19th, they would be checking out on the 26th. Why would they have to move on Christmas morning?

I think she is saying that the check in date of the 19th was more desirable than the 18th because of the check out date of the 26th vs the 25th. Hence, more 18th check ins available!!

I think I would add other Orlando timeshares to your request, pay for E-Plus, and take what you get. Then try for a retrade.

I booked my 2BR at Grande Vista for spring break in March, but wanted to try Lakeshore reserve, so I did a request-first exchange request. I had my flights booked already and figured if I didn't get the exchange, so what? I'd still be at Grande Vista.

Well, I did finally get the trade, but not until we were within Flexchange dates. So, I'd take what you can get. And if Lakeshore is preferred, then use E-Plus to try to get it possibly during Flexchange. If not, you'll still be in your 2nd choice.

With e-plus, there is $49 fee. If I then would find a better unit, and re-trade using e-plus, will I still pay another exchange fee also?

The $49 eplus fee pays for up to 3 retrades without incurring any additional exchange fees.
