What are my chances - VV in the summer?

Can't use my Kierland March week and no bites yet for rentals. Thinking of taking my wife, son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren to Orlando at the end of July.

My Staroptions will cover a three bedroom at Vistana Villages. Anyone have any idea what my chances are of snagging one 8 months out? I can find some 3 bedrooms on II at a Marriott but I've been there and it's quite a bit older. Am I right in assuming VV is a much nicer resort?

I am assuming u mean Imperial Palms - yes, it is older....and it will be much more difficult to get a 3BR a Grande Vista, which is VERY nice.

Since you are almost at the 8 month mark, why not wait and see if you can get it - II is size conscious so you can not request a 3BR with a 2BR - if u see it online, you know you can grab it - good luck!

I'd say your chances are very good. We are usually (far more often than not) able to get reservations at VV even when we call a couple of weeks in advance, and sometimes when we call a day or two in advance. Since we go for 4 or 5 days at a time in the summer, we never call more than 3 months out to make the reservations.
