Cliff answered the door in his pajamas about two hours ago and was greeted by name by a young man we did not know. The boy was decked out in his Boy Scout uniform and handed my husband a bag containing hand sanitizer, granola bar, popcorn, crossword puzzle book and a handwritten note wishing him well during the pandemic. We are not sure if this was in honor of Cliff's service in Italy and Germany in the early 60s, or just because he is old! There IS a brochure from Oakmont Senior Living included, and Lord knows Cliff has been meddling and researching "old folks homes" in my mother's town for her. Either way, it was a pleasant surprise!

Nice! But it might have been an Eagle Scout project. Whatever it is, don't look a gift horse in the mouth! Enjoy at face value

Both scout and his mother were wearing masks. We just went five minutes over the border to the next city to pick up a stack of two dozen free Anne Perry paperbacks to keep me busy now that I've finished all 23 Bosch novels. That "older" gentleman had had a visit from a different scout.
