Westin WLR vs WL5

If you are asking about WLR, you may want to correct your typo.
 
Westin WLR - is Westin Lagunimar in Cancun

If WLS is the other Westin location in Cancun - it is a Westin hotel resort property that is being converted into a TS property & being reconfigured to include suites and not just hotel rooms .

There are existing threads in the TUG Mexican Forum that include information on both .

They have the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort listed as WL5 & WLR.

Not sure if this is the answer, but the right-hand (smaller) side as you face Lagunamar seems to be used primarily for rental traffic, while the larger (left) portion is primarily for owners & exchangers. As I recall from the January owners meeting the past 2 years, a bit more than 30% of the units at Lagunamar go to rental traffic, 60-some percent to owners and exchangers.
At one time there was a sign directing guests to the right, owners to the left....but that was more than 2 years ago.
