As someone who doesn’t live in California, how widespread is vaping as opposed to smoking? And do these resorts allow either on the property? Also, does it matter if it’s tobacco or marijuana (recreational or medical)? Inside the villa or outside on the balcony? Designated areas?

Also if there’s a blanket no smoking/vaping (anything), how strictly is it enforced? Would love to hear your experiences.

Westin Mission Hills does not allow smoking/vaping except in designated smoking areas. No smoking/vaping is allowed in the villa or balcony. Not sure how strictly it is enforced as I did not see any smoking when we stayed in February.

Almost every place I know of treats vaping as seriously as smoking. It is the act of inhaling a controlled substance and exhaling it into the atmosphere where others will also inhale it. It creates second hand smoke. Not acceptable.

Having switched to E-Cigs 5 years ago I find it interesting how different Countries treat E-Cigs. Almost every local, county, state in the USA treat E-Cigs the same as tobacco. Yet in other Countries (such as Great Britain) they are encouraging people to switch to E-Cigs. In fact they are considering allowing E-Cig use indoors where tobacco is forbidden. Great Britain estimates that if every tobacco user switched full time to E-Cigs the diseases associated with tobacco would drop to between 1% and .1% where they are today.

I have to laugh at marijuana smokers, especially those on medical marijuana, because many of the negative health effects of smoking tobacco are also associated with smoking marijuana.

Also almost every State that now allows recreational use of marijuana restrict where it can be smoked. Most States prohibit public use of smoking marijuana.

Thank goodness E-Cigs are treated the same as Tabacco here in The USA. We are now able to enjoy most bars/resterants and most of the timeshare areas are smoke free or designated smoking areas with my grandkids and family. Nicatiene is a highly addictive and dangerious drug.
