I know that Cabo and Cancun are completely different locations. I'm trying to decide on a 3 bedroom at either of these places for next June. Which would you choose based on things to do at the hotel or the hotel itself? Can't seem to decide.

I'm not sure your question makes sense. What do you mean by 'at the hotel or the hotel itself'? Both these resorts are hotel conversions and if they still have hotel rooms on site I don't think you'd get a 3BR hotel room. I know the Cabo resort is fairly remote from Cabo St Lucas and the Cancun resort is towards the end of the hotel zone and quite a way from Westin Lagunamar. I think general consensus on here would be to go to Lagunamar but then you'd have to get a 2BR and either a 1BR or a Studio and I don't know if the chance of having them apart suits your circumstances.

Thank you for your reply. I meant which of the two resort is nicer to stay at? Which has more activities to do since both properties are away from town. Both Cabo and Cancun has 3 bds available for June so trying to decide on which one. I heard Lagunamar is better location but it only has a 2bd. I am leaning towards Westin Resort in Cancun but worried that it may be a bit outdated and not feel as luxurious as other westin resorts.

Can't beat the pool, hot tubs, and beach at Lagunamar. I wouldn't describe the hotel as overly special but I can't compare as haven't been to Los Cabos.

I like Westin lagunamar much more than Westin Cabos.

Lagunamar pool is unbeatable, good restaurants within walking distance of the resort, beach are fabulous! All Lagunamar units are ocean view.

If you decided to go Cabos, be aware that the wave at Cabos are usually very strong and you can only stay at beach and not in the water for most of the time.

We're just got back from Westin Los Cabos. We own two EOYs at Lagunamar. Yes, Lagunamar is a fun resort and being right across the street from the busy outdoor mall adds to the festiveness of the area. There's always something to do in walking distance! I don't know the Westin Cancun but if the beach is swimmer friendly and their pools are inviting, and you're looking for a 3-bedroom because of kids in your group, that might be a good choice because of ocean access for swimming. You could catch the city bus and use it easily to get to other 'hotel zone' areas. I agree with other comments that Westin Los Cabos's beach is NOT available to swimming - stronger surf and rocky areas. Their pools are very lovely, but no slide like Lagunamar. There are ping pong tables, pool tables (in the sports bar), oversized chess board; a miniature putting green of 9 holes; tennis courts (w/pickleball paddles available). Their activity chart is filled with young and adult things to do. You have to Uber (or use your rental car) to get anywhere. This is our first time and we are using Uber which has been VERY easy! We actually have been very pleased with Los Cabos - staff great; food good! Views and setting spectacular. But I'd say it's more laid back and more easy-going than Cancun. Side note: if this is a for a family w/kids, be sure to get the 3-bedroom that's in the main Cabo resort, not Baja Point. Baja Point is separate (with one pool) and requires a walk to get to the main resort where all the activities occur. Good luck! Either decision will be enjoyable and memorable!

The OP already chose Laugnamar and posted it on a different thread.
