We traded into a 2 bedroom at Lagunamar. Are there two bedroom villas or only 2 bedroom lockoffs? Besides the restaurants across in the mall, what other restaurants can we walk to that are worth the visit. Thanks for your assistance.

For lots of good info. in the old posts, please click on "search" in the blue bar at the top of the page and then "advance" search and put Lagunamar into the box.

I highly recommend taking bus or cab to Harry's. It only takes a couple of minutes and the food and service are amazing!

My favorite is Hacienda Sisal. Walkable distance for my party but probably further than what most people are comfortable with.

I've recommended this before on TUG, but we really enjoy El Fish Fritanga, which is south of Lagunamar and across the road. There is also a restaurant on the upper floor of the mall just south and on the same side of the road that we've visited for breakfast.

You can also walk to the American chain restaurants like Margaritaville, Outback and Bubba Gump, but I'm not recommending them. We were really disappointed with Margaritaville.

I agree with the above posters. I also really like La Habicheula Sunset, next to Fish Fritanga. I would not miss the Mexican Buffet a the resort, which includes mariachi musicians and dancers. The other bufftes were not as good, IMO. The bar food is good for lunch. You can also buy sandwiches in the little marketplace. Avoid the pizza place in La Isla, but the taco place across from it was reasonable and the food okay.

I second this. I've always enjoyed Hacienda Sisal every time we've been.

We also at at Hacienda Sisal when we stayed at the Royal Sands prior to WLR being completed. As I remember the food was good but the margaritas were excellent.

I third this. We ate twice at Hacienda Sisal during our trip in April. The margaritas are awesome, and the table side guac is very good too.

La Distilleria is good and a reasonable walk from the resort. Book through the concierge and they'll give everyone at the table a free margarita

+1. We enjoyed this restaurant, as well.

+1 for Fish Fritanga, great casual spot right on the beach next to the Lagoon. Also +1 for Harry's Steakhouse, short cab ride from hotel. This year we also went to Fred's a seafood restaurant owned by the same people as Harry's and it was excellent as well.

WLR restaurants

Fish Fritanga; Thai in the mall; taco place in the mall - Taco Grill?(surprisingly good for a quick, cheap meal); Harrys - expensive and mostly steaks, but very good; there is a small, local place near Fritanga -Santos Marisos - which had great fish tacos on cheese "tortillas" - recommended in Frommers, very good and very inexpensive; and downtown we recommend La Parilla (the Mexican one not Argentine), and Roots both are easy walking distance from the bus stop, and good food. If you go downtown, Chedraui grocery store is on the corner of the bus stop and good selection/prices. Can take a cab back too.
We're going in 2 weeks - how is the weather?

+1 Taco Grill. We ended up eating there several times over the past couple of years.
