If you are a deeded week owner at Westin Desert Willow, this post is for you.

I was selected to be on the ballot for the Westin Desert Willow Condominium Association Board of Directors. I have owned there since 2014 (and at WKORV since 2004) and would like the opportunity to represent you as an independent member of the Board. The proxies and ballots have been mailed out and you should have received them in the past few days.

I would appreciate your vote and, if elected, will do my best to ensure that WDW continues to deliver the quality Westin experience we expect while also exercising fiscal responsibility on behalf of all owners.

My name, as shown on the ballot, is David Troup. Regardless how you vote, it's important to do so and to return your signed proxy and ballot before the October 27 deadline.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.
I am sorry you did not win the election. I will vote for you if you run again.

My husband and I just went to an owners update at nanea in Maui. Their maintenance fee is $2000 while ours is $2700. What is happening at desert willow for such high fees compared to Maui. Can the hoa increase its efficiency and bring the fees down?

I have applied to run in subsequent years but have not been selected again for the ballot.

I think what they told you in Maui must not have been an apples-to-apples comparison. I also own at Westin Ka'anapali Villas (south) and the maintenance fees there for a 2 br lockoff, annual, were about $3200 last year, while WKORV North was more than $3800. Nanea has a different ownership structure, but if you owned enough Nanea HomeOptions for a two bedroom unit (they don’t have lockoffs there) I imagine it would be comparable to the other Maui properties. I’ll bet they were showing you the number for an 81,000 HomeOptions package which would only be a one bedroom unit.

Like you, my WDW MF last year was about $2700 for my two bedroom lockoff there (when I first bought there, it was less than $1400!)
