The last review of this resort is a couple of years old and I see they have lost their GC status. Anyone stayed there in the last 2 years? We have it on hold along with the Sheraton Desert Oasis and we are leaning more towards Painted Mountain because of the reasonable golf. Friends stayed there a few years ago and loved it. Also is there DVD or VCR players in the units? The resort description doesn't list them.

Lynn-I'm embarrassed to say I've never been there. It never did appeal to me. There's lots of golf and I think this resort is out in east Mesa. Pretty accessible by car from Scottsdale via the SB Loop 101 and EB Loop 202. I think there are better, if not cheaper courses closer to Snobsdale.

"Snobsdale" I love it! ;)
I guess I should have mentioned that I do know where it's located and have been to the Phoenix area several times. Have always stayed in "Snobsdale" however we have friends that live in Gilbert so wanted to try a different area closer to them so we could golf together. I was just curious about the condition of the units. Anyway I had a week booked at the Legacy with SFX and they got us a second week there so I let this one go.

The joy of golfing (so my OM says) is the meeting of the minds-or in this case, each of you driving to a course somewhere in the middle. The Legacy has a nice course (again, don't be caught out late at night or off premises) and there are several courses between you (the Legacy is about dead, oh sorry, south of the Airport) and Gilbert is out east. There are a whole bunch of good courses (again, per my OM) betwixt and between. I'm sure your friend will know of them. Welcome (and remember the night thing).

Now you've got me worried! What do you mean by late at night?

I guess we should be okay because after a day of golf going out for dinner and home before 9pm is about as late as we get. :)
