We are booked into a two bed in Westgate Flamingo over the Labor Day week. It looks like a lovely place. Has anyone stayed there? Any one stayed at the other new one called Tahiti? Aside from the tradional gambling, shows, and the like, anyone have any ideas on something different to do in Las Vegas...we will have a car, so we don't mind driving. Thanks.

Here's a start: Red Rock Canyon Park. Valley of Fire, Lost City of Overton Museum, Hoover Dam. Bird Preserve in Henderson. The Springs Preserve (Gardens) on Alta in Las Vegas. Boulder City to go Antique Shopping. Elvis-a-Rama Museum if it is still open, Lake Mead, Ethel M Chocolate Factory Tour and Cactus Gardens.

Then there's the outlet malls, and model homes if you're into that. We love looking at new houses, and there's a ton of them here...

I stayed at Westgate last year. It was very nice. Lots of room. There is a shuttle that takes you from the resort to the strip we took it one day so we didnt have to hasstle with traffic. It was on time and convenient. We always drive when we go to Vegas, if we didnt drive I would rent a car. Other things to do besides the strip. My family lives close to the new Red Rock Station Casino. They said that was pretty nice, I guess a billion dollars should buy pretty nice.

 Thanks guys for all the suggestions...we will probably do them all!
And I love the Elvis tip...my husband took me to see Trent Carlini in Rosemont Ill for my last birthday! Anyone over 50 yrs loves Elvis. We are looking forward to our stay there...and Fern.....we love to look at model homes....we usually do that just for the fun of it and comparison...and finally at long last, we found a spot in Florida that is just perfect for us and bought a condo!! Now, we can get out of the snow for a couple of months each year! We love Chicago, but not in the winters. That's when our love turns to Florida! Thanks again!
