Which would you choose. It is probably just going to be me & hubby going next September. We will be able to get a 2 bedroom unit on our exchange. First time in Branson. We don't mind driving. But want the better of the 2 as far as cleanliness & location. TIA
We stayed at Emerald Pointe in a 3br Townhome in late September 2005. It was very very pretty. The attached garage was a very nice bonus as well.
My one and only negative........the prehistoric sized tarantulas that were literally everywhere on the road that leads into the resort. We encountered them every single evening. Can you say Stephen King movie!!!!!
I was so freaked that one had surely made it's way into our townhouse...that my poor husband had to look under all the beds each evening to convince me one of those hairy suckers wasn't going to attack me during the nite.

We were in a 1 bedroom master suite of a 2 bedroom LO unit at Branson Woods a couple of months ago. We were in one of the quad plex units up around the club house rather than in one of the tower units. They also have a different configuration of a quad plex then what we were in.
The unit itself was very spacious, well decorated and comfortable. The only issue we had was they were poorly insulated. Foot steps from above could be easily heard. Especially children running across the floor. Conversations from the LO next door, even at normal levels, were very clearly heard. Other than that the unit was great.
I have pictures of our unit and of the resort in general at my Webshots page. Click on the picture and it should take you directly to our photo's of Westgate's Branson Woods.
Would you prefer to be on the lake, with a managable, pretty drive to anything, or close to the action, where you could stumble down the hill and be at Shoji's?
Oh yeah, I forgot, the little creatures were exposed to some radiation from the x-ray machines at Skaggs hospital. They have now mutated into their prehistoric predecessors, tarantulasaurases.
A herd was last seen demolishing the Branson Landing, and eating ribs at Famous Dave's. They especially like those little sweet corn cobettes.
We stayed at Emerald Pointe in Sept. The view of the lake was beautiful. The ride to town took about 10 to 15 min., depending on where you were going. We stayed at the Woods about 4 years ago and it also was very nice. We like being on the water so we prefer Emerald Pointe. No spiders there!!!
since we were in one of the free standing homes at Emerald Pointe, we did not have a view of the water. The 3br home was beautiful though. So not having water to look at was ok with us. We also didn't rely on the resort for activities....so it didn't matter to us that there were not many.
We wanted to see shows...and if you can't find a show you consider entertaining in Branson...well your either a drama queen or high maintenance to the extreme. OK...so I'm a drama queen with arachnids. I have unresolved big hairy bug issues...and I have no immediate plans to get over it.
It's a shame that Branson Landing was pillaged by them as one "local" has reported. When I was there a couple of weeks ago...it was a neat place to shop at. I'm having problems picturing female arachnids wearing the cute clothes from glitz and glamor....or was it glamour and glitz?
Hopefully you can snag one of those really nice townhomes, unless the tarannie's have eaten all the staff and spun the exchangers into cocoons for a rainy day.
We have not stayed at the woods. We did stay at emeralde point just after Westgate bought it. The sign wasn't even changed yet. If you get the 2bedroom you will get a water view which is really nice because you can leave the windows open and let the breeze from the lake blow that nice cool air in. Ask for the 3rd floor for the best views.
