Our problem getting to Aruba may not be as easy as we thought. Traveling from San Diego to get to Aruba will be a pain. I hear the layovers are dreadful... Any advice to get to Aruba any faster from the west coast? Thanks, Guy.

I dislike red-eye flights, but when we fly from the Bay Area to the Carribbean, we usually go for the red-eye flights. Often, it's our only option, but even if it's not, the non-red-eye flights would usually arrive very late.

We can usually find a flight on either Continental (through Newark), US Air (through Charlotte or Philadelphia), or Delta (through Atlanta) with only one connection. I'd imagine flight options from San Diego are similar.

When we fly to the Caribbean I usually work backwards. I check to see which airlines service my destination and from which airports, then try to make a connection there. Aruba is one of the easiest for us. AA flies from SFO-MIA arriving around 3; and MIA-AUA departs ~4:30pm on Sat.

So have you changed your trip from Mexico to Aruba?
