West 57th has different square footage for 1 bedroom units and I'm trying to figure out if the only difference is just floor/view since square footage goes the other direction. I guess what I'm really after is the floorplan of the 1 Bedroom vs 1 Bedroom Plus, but the Hilton and HGVC sites aren't helpful with where that extra 150sf is located. I get that views are valuable, but based on availability, most owners are gravitating toward the 1BR on lower floors.

If anyone has stayed in a 1BR and a 1BP and can offer a size/layout comparison it would be helpful. Below are the numbers offered on the HGVC site. As you can see, the studio gets higher and larger, while the 1 bedrooms get mostly smaller and higher, until you get to the Penthouse.

Studio Plus: 5,250, 355sf
Studio Premier: 7,200, 468sf, Floors 21-24
1 Bedroom: 7,200, 710sf
1 Bedroom Plus: 9,300, 564sf, Floors 16-20
1 Bedroom Premier: 12,600, 570sf, Floors 15, 21-24
1 Bedroom Penthouse: 16,800, 718sf, Floors 25-26

The std 1 bedrooms are larger but the extra space is mainly in the entrance area where it is wasted. Biggest difference is that the 1 bedrooms are on floors 3 - 14 and don't have a view. The higher you go the more chance of a view. With the exception of the Penthouses, I believe all of the one-bedrooms are on the back side of the building so the view would be skyscrapers.

Thanks so much! In that case, I think I'll go for the view in a Plus.

Note that you may not get one unless you are placed on a high floor. I have never stayed in a 1 berm Plus (only Premier) so cannot vouch that you get a view.

Thanks! I'll take the risk and report back. Both descriptions claim a "city view."

"City view" in New York (well, Manhattan, any way) often means "side of the adjacent building." :)

Cheers.

I got a studio via SFX, so I won't complain, I will just get what I get.

I’m in a studio plus at W57 as I type this. If you are facing the north the view is limited to building construction. My unit is on the 10th floor... this is a fabulous club in a great location, even if the view is less than amazing.

@gunner13734 That's what you would expect for NYC if you exchanged. Check out the view from the balcony thread for the view of central park on the 22nd floor. Enjoy W57.

We stayed in a 1br plus in October and we stayed on the 20th floor with a with of West 57th Street.

IMO the view of West 57th Street was not worth the extra points.

I agree. One can sometimes get a sliver of a park view (and that's nice), but I wouldn't spend extra for that. We prefer Studio Premier to the base-level Studio Plus (and they do happen to be on higher floors with a typically "better" view) but we do this for the added size. As 1BR is the same points as Studio Premier, we may go that way in the future.

Cheers.

Here’s a one bedroom video posted by another TUG member in a different thread.
I was just at W 57th Street by Hilton Club this April. It is in a great location. Since I was using my HGVClub points to access it, we did not have access to the owner lounge. The lobby is small but the rooms are very nice.

It is in a great location. Down the street from Carnegie Hall and a couple of blocks from Central Park. There is a grocery store (with a deli and hot foods) just a couple doors down and restaurants everywhere. There is no microwave in the room. We ended up getting cold sandwiches (lunch or late dinner) and bagels and muffins for breakfast.

Here is a video of the 1 bedroom that we stayed in

Cool video. Thanks for finding/sharing. Seems like we may want that going forward over the Studio Premier.

In fact, just changed our upcoming trip to a 1BD :)

Cheers.
