Yes, and Meta/Mark allows those companies, or folks associated with them, to report people like TUG Brian & I who try to steer people on the TUG FB group away from them to report us for going against FB's Community Standards and puts us in FB jail (freezes our accounts and makes them not visible to anybody). FB allows us to appeal even though they don't say what comment and or post was reported, then say "It usually takes us just over a day to review your information". It has now been 10 days for us!
Guilty until proven innocent!

Wow! I am amazed they would do that but they take the word of other users, and they shouldn't. Truth should win over folly and lies.

did it block you from EVERYTHING on facebook? or just the moderator role on the TUG page?

This is the same Facebook who protects their scammer advertisers. I have reported so many fake ads only to get "it doesn't go against our standard". We know where their standard lies.

I am totally blocked & DD says when she tried to send me a FB message it said undeliverable. Then she tried to look at my page -it doesnt exist! I even put a VPN on my phone, made up a new Gmail adr and tried to set up a new account using a different name, hometown and birthday and was not allowed -it said they encountered a problem & try later. I have tried many times -same thing. The odd thing is I get a notification on my phone when a friend posts something, but am unable to look at it.
This is what I see when I try to look at FB -same thing whether looking at the website or the app on my phone;

Your account is not visible to people on Facebook, and you can't use it.
What happens next?
It usually takes us just over a day to review your information.
If we find your account does follow our Community Standards, you’ll be able to use Facebook again.
If we find your account doesn’t follow our Community Standards, it will be permanently disabled and you won’t be able to appeal again.

Not sure how they measure days but its way more than "just over a day"!
So very frustrating!!

I dont know for sure it was a person from the TUG FB page that reported me, that is the only place I may 'tick off' a person like an exit company owner/user. I dont post or share anything controversial, usually just vacation or family photos or a funny cartoon.

A similar thing happened to our DGS's other grandma earlier this year. She is very anti-Trump on FB and one of her "friends" is very pro-Trump and reported Shelley for posting inappropriate material then boasted on her page that she 'got rid of Shelley'. It took a month to get the account restored with no explanation or apology. Her first action was to unfriend & block that "friend".

Not just scammers. There is a story in the Toronto Star newspaper today from their consumer investigations reporter about how easy it is for anybody to buy many different types of narcotic drugs from an ad on FB. Their reporter was able to buy cocaine, Percocet and many others from an ad on Facebook in the last few weeks. The packages came from the USA and were delivered by Canada Post with no troubles/hold ups at customs. The story is behind a paywall but here is a YouTube version (
). The story is the result of this controversy last spring. https://www.techtransparencyproject...ds-selling-everything-from-opioids-to-cocaine.
So Meta can allow that but not regular folks posting nothing illegal or controversial?

I wish it was just the TUG mod. page, but nope -the whole kitten caboodle! I am not sure it was a person reporting something that had I said on the TUG page, but I have had many private messages from folks pretty upset that we (TUG) are telling people not to use their exit service or a rental company, but from a presentation, or whatever. One guy said we/TUG had no right to tell people what to do with their unwanted timeshare! I can not think of what else could have caused the suspension, since as far as I know I only have one real 'enemy' and since he (not a TUG member) seems to have a spy in here who sends him screenshots of my comments, I will say no more. It is just too bad that Meta doesnt tell us what we posted/commented that caused the suspension and offer no way in the appeal to explain why we posted it.

The only good thing that had come of the suspension is that I now spend far less time on the computer, and more time doing other things! Lol.

My ex contacted them and set up our free "consultation." I told her they are the same type of people that sold us the damned thing in the first place. They wanted us to watch a long video first, which was all about the founder, trying to make it look like he is in the business of "helping" people. To my ex's credit, she said, just tell us how much it will cost and it was something like $7.5K and would take a year. We own at Grandview and loan is paid off.

Is your Grandview in RCI points?

Wesley takes advantage of timeshare owners by keeping them in the dark about their options. If your week is enrolled in RCI it will be easier to give away. Even if not in RCI, I am confident that you could post it for free with a $2000 gift card at closing and you would likely have a line of people wanting to take it over. You could then use LT Transfers who for a nominal fee will handle everything for you making it as easy as possible. On top of that, you would save $5500 from what Wesley was going to charge you. Wesley may very well have just advised you to stop paying resulting in a foreclosure.

and you could accomplish the exact same result yourself for free...

Wesley Financial Group and those ubiquitous, twangy Chuck McDowell aw shucks, good 'ol boy "I ain't no lawyer" radio ads must be hugely successful.
I think proof that he is successful with that homey voice is that he is now doing radio commercials for Red Pocket Mobile.

Facebook is trash. They gave the platform away to bots, AI and shills. Unfortunately, I still have some friends who use that platform. And since I want to know what they're up to, I maintain an account.

Meta has permeated the layer of world connections. Like it or not we have sold our souls to become dependent on their channel. I would love to totally disconnect from the likes of Meta. It's a necessary evil at this point and we are beholden to their whim. It sucks.

I spend almost zero time there. I check to see if I have any messages from old friends and that's that. I don't even scroll. What's the point? Just a bunch of AI slop and dog-whistle bigotry.

Most of the users are bots and shills. It's so bad, that I will occasionally use Facebook to decide where not to go. "Hi! I'm going to be in Great Falls for the first time. Where should I eat?"

And then take all the most popular responses and turn that into my no-go list.

Chat GPT is great for travel planning. Would never trust FB. And have 10”friends “, mostly family and rarely even open it.

I dont scroll much either due to all the ads, but when I do, I go to the "Feeds" section and click on 'friends', then I just see what my friends have posted with just a few ads. The difference with me is that I belong to many groups on FB. TUG being one of them (I am one of the moderators), plus our little community residents group, a few Canadian Snowbirds who winter in FL (a moderator on one of them), my high school alumni, and many others. I find the groups are a good way (like this BBS) to find out about things or post happenings. Just before we left home (ON) last fall a neighbour a couple of streets over posted in our little community group that there was a bear wandering in the yards and eyeing the little kids playing in the yard behind them. Those folks were new to the subdivision and didnt know any of the neighbours. They posted what street the bear was on and many neighbours nearby saw the post right away and were able to bring their kids and pets inside. We had a similar situation over a year ago but with a fisher in the neighbourhood, unfortunately it had somebody's cat in its mouth, but the post probably saved it from getting others.

When we are out of the country we use Facebook messenger to call or video chat with family and friends back home. We dont have Apple cellphones so cant facetime and using FB is free no matter where in the world we are as long as we have internet. We also use WhatsApp for messages and calls. I have my security settings set so I can only get calls/messages from people on my contacts list on both.

very interesting re FB doing that, I get comments at times marked for review when I make a comment about what I think is a scammer post , I appeal and they get put back the next day but really now!

Yes, I have had comments about posts for review in the past which took minutes to be approved or explained but this suspension is getting ridicules. We were talking to a friend the other day who is a classic car owner and enthusiast. He attended a classic car show in Detroit (Woodward Ave Cruise) last summer and posted dozens of photos of old cars from the show. Meta suspended him because of the post -they thought he was selling the cars! DUH -look at the description of the photos and the location! Geeze Meta!! He wondered if my dozen or so photos of classic cars that I posted the morning I was suspended was the same reason. The other possibility is that an owner or employee of an exit company I was telling a TUG member on the FB group not to use reported me. I never did get an email from Meta/FB to say why they suspended me and the appeal is still pending.

Yes, I am sure it is, but somebody needs to program the Meta AI so it applies some logic to the decision of suspending posts. Also who or whatever is looking at the appeals needs to do it in a more timely fashion. Dont tell people it takes a day to review the suspension when it takes weeks or months! I am on day 48 now!

yours must have gone into a black hole, agree that AI is imperfect 100% yet they have started using it so we are all being experimented on .

I had an instagram for a short time, someone hacked the password, never got an email as they sent it to the scammer email. They also locked my fb and told me to go to instagram to get it fixed . Never got it resolved. I could not figure out how to get to a real person with a real brain, this was 2 years ago or so.
