We're back home in Reno after a great week! This was our first vacation after Rod's open heart surgery and it was perfect. The Hyatt is only 45 min door-to-door from our home in Reno, and it's so nice to have such a short trip! I am going to give away another timeshare and try to pick up another Hyatt week - we love it so much!

In the past, but not this trip - Rod is recovering from open heart surgery, so we are limiting our walks to 2-3 miles, on flatter terrain.
What kind of Hyatt week are you folks wanting to get next?

blessings to Rod with surgery recovery. We stayed in this place 3-4 times and every time we come back from stay I start looking into buying timeshare there. Love it!

HHS Management is looking at potential upgrades to the pool, lobby and game room areas per the latest quarterly newsletter. Obviously there is concern that HHS may eventually lose access to the HR pool and beach (not before summer 2026) which would be a huge loss. The existing HHS pool is not big enough to accommodate every unit though I am not sure how they would/could expand it.

As an owner I am glad they are focused on resort amenities as I did not think the kitchens needed updating though they certainly look nice now.

I thought the units in general needed a refresh more than just the kitchen. Hopefully if Ellison is bailing out and selling, this means nothing will change because losing beach and pool access would be so horrible for HHS.

For sure the units (and furniture) are dated but mainly aesthetics as opposed to functionality (though they will need USB C ports instead of USB A, etc.)

I mainly come here to ski but it would be nice to have a large common area where guests could hang out, and perhaps a separate game room for kids with more than a foosball and ping pong table. In the summer I'd certainly welcome more BBQs. They will also need a gym if they lose access to the Hyatt one. Personally I would love to have an on site bar/restaurants (as many timeshare do) but it doesn't make sense with the Hyatt next door and the limited number of units.

Of this wishlist, I would think more grills is about the best they could do with their limited space.

If the hotel & casino are sold, it won't be part of the Hyatt brand anymore? Are the prices any better at the restaurant?

The restaurant prices are reasonable for the area except for Lone Eagle which really skyrocketed during the pandemic.

A hotel sale may not affect the Hyatt hotel management contract - it will depend on the new owners and what they want going forward. There is already a Ritz nearby and a Waldorf (Hilton) planned so I would imagine Hyatt would like to keep a footprint (though they already have Everline) but it's a competitive business.
