Welk Resort Villas room request?

I just booked a two bedroom unit in late October in the Welk Resort Villas. We have stayed in the Villas on the Green 3 times in the last 5 years, but this will be our first time in the older section. We haven't been over in that section much, and I don't remember a lot about it.

Any suggestions for room/building requests? My first priority is probably a good view from the balcony, preferably one with a water view, although that's not a must.

We have 3 children ages 4, 7 & 10 who will want to spend a lot of time at the Mountain Villas and Boulder Springs pool areas. Are any of the Resort Villas in easy walking distance of the Boulder Springs pool area?

Are all of the buildings 1 or 2 stories? And do all of the second bedrooms have 2 double beds?

Thanks in advance for info and suggestions! :)

We have enjoyed the Villas several times. If you become a TUG member you can benefit from the numerous TUG reviews. There are earlier threads that you can check in this forum. There is a resort map online: http://welkresorts.com/san-diego/resort-map/

Most of the buildings are two stories with a few with one story. Many folks with kids seem to like the bottom floor so that the kids can play on the patios and lawn. I believe that all have two double beds in the second bedrooms.

Melody Hill is adults only.

The resort is very good about meeting unit requests and answering questions about the units.

ANd different check in dates are put in different buildings. I think the map does a pretty good job of making that clear.

Thank you for the help! That map is extremely helpful. :) I did call Welk for help making a room request, and although polite, they were not as helpful as they have been in the past with room requests. Hopefully when I arrive we'll have a room we're happy with. :)

Thanks for this resort map, we also have a reservation for Nov. Our II confirmation has LW2 week 45, so does this mean we can request any room Harmony Hill - Stardust?

We were just in Harmony Hill - Stardust (#45 on map) and enjoyed that location. We had unit 385, 2nd story, with a view of the fishing pond. Unit was renovated, and looked very nice inside.

Yes, 2nd bedroom had 2 double beds.

Our friends were in 335, Dixie 2nd floor (I think #38 on map) right across from Harmony Hill rec center. Another friend recommends Volare (#37 on map), very close to Stardust and the fishing pond.

LWR had plenty of barbecues, and they were convenient to the units.

In my opinion, none of the buildings are walking distance to Mountain Villas because of the upslope. I saw people drive up there, and lots were given rides in the golf carts.
FYI, the original slide at Broadway Hill is much faster than the new slide. However, I prefer the new pool for spaciousness. The Broadway Hill Rec pools are both too small, and very crowded. Day use on weekends appeared to be a reason for the overcrowding.

That seems to be a Saturday check-in building. I suppose you can request any unit but some units might be already reserved.

Thanks, I'll just call them since we have a Sun check in. Looking forward to our stay this resort has been on my wish list
