Welk Platinum Points Reservations @ San Diego

We are considering buying 480,000 Welk Platinum Points on the resale market. The booking window is 12 months for regular members, but 15 months for Premier Members (540,000 points or more). So all members with more than 540,000 points can book prime weeks ahead of us.

My question is if we want to book prime July weeks at the 12 month window, will we have a high probability of success? Are there any WPP members who have experience with booking prime July weeks or other prime weeks such as holidays.

We have not tried to reserve a holiday week with points, but we have booked a week in early August and didn't have any trouble. I don't know how many of the owners have the higher level of points, but I wouldn't think it is that many.

We love the resort in Escondido (stayed in both the Resort Villas and Mountain Villas, but not Villas of the Green) and have visited the Branson property. That is very nice and pretty much like the Mountain Villas in Escondido. We are scheduled to stay at Sirena del Mar in Cabo this December. That resort is very highly rated. The resort in the Palm Springs area isn't up to the same standard, but they have made some improvements in the last year or so.
