Weird Costco Citibank issue

I had something weird happen today. I received a Costco Citibank notification that I had a charge for an amount that I didn't recognize (~$160), made at costco.com. Just yesterday I used my card on the costco website to order some plumbing fixtures. That amount was for about $220. I received a notification of that charge as well. The notifications say that the card was not present for the charge.

I went on costco.com and the only open order is for yesterday's purchase of $220.

I went on the Citibank website and I see the pending charges for both $220 and $160.

I called Citi and my only option was to cancel the card and get a replacement. I will do that if the charge turns out to be fraudulent. I am just wondering if Costco usually charges the full amount just once, or if they split the charges up like Amazon. My order has two separate tracking numbers. I can't quite make the amounts work, but one item is just about $60, which is roughly the difference between the two amounts ($220-$160), so if they billed per shipment, the amounts could be close. I am trying to figure out what I should be expecting with regards to these charges.

Any ideas? Thanks.

That sounds like the answer. If you look at Costco.com and check your digital membership card where it will display the expiration date

No, unfortunately I paid dues in August. But I like your thinking! It was actually $160.03

When I've ordered multiple items from Costco online, the charges do hit my card separately if they are not shipped together. Before going through the hassle of canceling the card, I'd keep checking to see if the pending falls off, or if you are able to confirm there are two components shipped separately.

Thanks so much! That was what I was hoping might be the issue. I am hoping that eventually the duplicate charge will fall off.

I have ordered from Costco.com before but I have always received just a single shipment, so just a single charge. I have been reading about issues with the Costco Citibank cards getting compromised (reddit) so I have been extra cautious with this card.
