We hit a deer in the dark last night

Hi Denise,

Sorry about your new car, but glad that you weren't hurt. I'm assuming that you were going to your (inexpensively bought) timeshare. PLEASE to not tell others which one it is !!!

Just relax by the fireplace, and enjoy the beautiful Tahoe scenery. I sure hope your insurance, and possibly the car warranty will take care of all of the damage, and rental car. Do you know how long it will take to get the Jeep repaired?

Actually, we got Comped at Lakeside this weekend, so the TS is still our little secret! :D

After a $500 deductible, Geico will take care of the repairs and rental car. Repairs will take 1-2 weeks - probably closer to 2.

We have had a nice weekend in spite of everything and I even go a Royal Flush tonight! We will head home in the rental car tomorrow.

oh, a contest? CA 50 would be my guess. What do I win?

-David

You are right, but we usually take 88 - I guess we should have this weekend! We hit the deer just above Placerville.

You win a pre-owned bumper and grill, decorated with deer hair!

Thanks everyone for your concern!

sorry to hear about your car and the deer, but you and family are okay and that is what is most important.....

we have just about everything here loose, so driving at night is almost a no no....dogs, cows, wild horses, roosters, ducks, deer oh a long list...

Just glad no person was injured!!

Did it pay the $500 deductible? :D

Almost! I won $400 and the deductible was $500. Not that I'm giving the garage my winnings! :D

I hit a deer once.

It was about 20 years ago. I was driving my boss and his wife to the airport in his Audi. We got out, looked at the damage, and kept on to the airport.

About 12 years ago I hit an elk somewhere near Cimmaron, NM. It was late at night and I was driving by myself from Colorado Springs to Taos; wound up being towed to Angel Fire that night instead. When the sherrif asked me if I was OK I said "I just can't believe I didn't **** myself" at which point he determined that I was in fact OK.

On a funny note, when I got back to Boston, a few friends of mine suggested that I might want to watch the movie Tommy Boy; if you haven't seen the movie I would pass on the same advice. Even if you don't like Chris Farley, I would still say you should watch it. You don't have to watch the entire movie (you'll know when you've reached the scene that applies). :D
