A last thought...
I contacted II. they didn't know anything about Legacy dropping them as of Oct 1.... I did not speak with anyone that called from Legacy.... I own at the Spas in Kissimee.....So you are saying the converstion to points would cost me!! I know people who have Disney points and have no problems. We don't use our week at all and have had trouble exchanging over the years. I'd like to get rid of this monkey on my back and be done with it.
I (...once again) suggest that you call the Spas resort (i.e., not Celebrity / Legacy corporate)
directly.
If the II affiliation is dissolving in 3 days, surely someone at the facility knows this. Who exactly was it that claimed to you that Legacy was "dropping" II as of October 1 in the first place?

Frankly, I find that claim hard to believe (...but not at all hard to believe if was actually
II doing the "dropping").
If Legacy wanted to affiliate with RCI they likely could do so with relative ease
without dropping II and then just be "dual affiliated". After all, II affiliation standards have historically
always been higher than RCI's.
RCI will allow
any facility, no matter how dumpy, to be "RCI affiliated". The questionable claim of Legacy "dropping" II (a claim whose origins are not at all clear to me from your posts) is truly a bit suspect.
Regardless of the above, yes you most certainly
will have to pay serious money to convert to points.
That's the whole idea --- they're trying to
raise cash from exisiting owners. Your reference to "people you know who have Disney points and have no problems" is (no disrespect intended) irrelevant, comparing apples to hub caps ---
you're not getting "Disney points" (an entirely different and completely unrelated system) out of a Celebrity / Legacy ownership.
Your mileage (and your patience and cost investment) may vary, but
my solution to the ongoing comic tragedy of Celebrity / Legacy was to just give the damned thing away for free, and even pay the $200 transfer fee myself to be
rid of it. I didn't pay much for it (in the resale market, of course) to begin with.
Good Riddance forever to Jared Meyers and
all of his assorted cronies and lackeys!
