Want to rent a HGVC account to check out availability and play around

Hi TUGBBS folks, i have been following this forum and timeshare space for a very long-time. I love browsing through resort pages, YouTube about timeshare, and this forum. I saw so many reddit posts that timeshare is a scam... but i just can't wait to pull the trigger and get my HGVC. In the last timeshare presentation I did in Maui, I asked the rep to show me some availabilities across different seasons and locations. Some are great and there are also locations underwhelming. Dont know why but the rep did not give me another chance to check out the availabilities. Especially when i asked about RCI exchange, the rep was like "this guy is asking too much..." So I was discouraged by this. After coming back from the trip, i feel i really want to do some research on my own and see if that makes sense to join.

So I am here to ask if there is anyone who can rent me an account (HGVC + RCI ideally) for a few days. I am willing to pay up to $100. Obviously i am not going to book anything or change any settings. I just want to browse through all of the available inventory, do my own research, and see if that really makes sense for me and my family. If you think you can help, feel free to reach out michaelminghaotravel@gmail.com. Thank you!

*I tried to register for a free account on RCI - it just wont work lol. Let me know if there is anyway for me to browse the real-time inventory. Much appreciated!

Best,
Michael

You can get a free RCI account, check this out. I just set one up.

As far as HGVC it would take a huge leap of faith for someone that just registered today on this site.

thank you! this is very helpful! and btw, i am in San Francisco so anywhere in the bay area we can meet up for this. Maybe instead of renting a account directly, just have me browse through the inventory together on your laptop in a local coffee shop? that would be a better solution lol.

I don't think anyone is going to give you the keys to the castle. What you might want to do is ask about availability at specific resorts during the months you wish to travel. Keep it to a few resorts and folks might be willing to that for you.

If you're wanting to just see what kind of stuff is available in Extra Vacations, you can sign up for All Resort Store. You need an affiliation, but AARP works if you are a member. If not, you can sign up for AARP pretty cheap.

I don't know much about it, but Timeshare Traveler on YouTube has his channel membership setup in a way to provide some kind of videos for teaching and showing available inventory.

The in-person browsing session lends a sense of legitimacy. I like your out-of-the-box thinking.

Man, I hate a lost opportunity. I love sushi. Not a HGVC owner, but if I were in the San Francisco area, I am sure we could have worked out at least the RCI browsing part of the arrangement for $50 worth of sushi (maybe that does not go far in San Fran).

Having nothing better to do and being very familiar with RCI, "Start a Conversation" with me about what you might be looking for in RCI. If something connects, I can book it and put you down as a guest. Then send me a $50 Visa gift card for the sushi dinner of my choice.

In my experience, RCI availability is best in January. By Feb, the best properties are already taken.
There are still many places available, but, see my first line.

Oh .... pllleeeeazze.

This is just the Extra Vacations available for about the next year, a couple thousand (not including actual exchanges -- which are thousands more).

Take just one example (out of a couple thousand) for what you do not know what you are posting about -- 2 Bedroom Hawaii in March for $850.

Sorry, this seems very suss. Why not just pay someone HGVC account to get on a zoom session with you and share screen after logging to look at inventory.

Even that could be fraught with issues if that person is not too tech savvy. What you should really do is go to the newbie section and talk about what you are looking for. Also, become a member for a few bucks and ask in the sightings forum.

Regardless, buying from developer is rarely the way to go.
