W 57 St Buying Strategy

Sorry not entirely for this thread but is the lounge now open at 57st? More to the point I have been watching this thread as I may want to buy something in 57st. Bought at HCNY years back from developer and it has been a huge disappointment to say the least. I can't and won't sell it now as I would literally get pennies on the dollar, the units are still closed reported until Aug first but I will believe it when I see the place actually open. I feel even worse for those who recently bought in the residence and forked out even more cash for units that have been closed now for well over a year. Sad situation......

I don’t know I haven’t booked one yet. However the rooms at the Hilton club and the residence do get daily room service.

That's a negative. W. 57th is better that way, IMO.

Cheers.

At 57th you could "buy" the extra room service if you wanted it and it was included daily if you booked a room through the web site and just paid the day rate. At least that WAS the deal. I suspect that has all changed now. Don't know what HCNY and Residences are doing as they have yet to actually open.

lounge is open at w 57th, but they have a server. it is not too different than before except no cookies left out, individual little bottles of wine or beer. lounge at quin is not open, obviously HCNY and residences are still closed

Thanks. We'll be there in September, so good to know that the lounge is open. Maybe it will open up a little more between now and then, but even this would be welcome.

Cheers.

Glad to hear that the lounge is open. We hope to visit in September and booked a Studio Premier. Airfare is pricey though. Wish Southwest would start flying nonstop to NYC again.

Thanks for the info. We are going this weekend for a few days.

We've been offered this deal a couple of times when we've checked in at W. 57th. This is a very good deal and we did it both times. Only down side is that Studio Premier, while technically allowed, is unlikely to be available.

Cheers.

@brp I seem to recall that this offer also had a gift card ($150?) that could be used at local restaurants. Not as good? Or am I confusing with a different offer?

Yeah, it might have had some Elevated Rewards dollars attached, Probably as an either/or with the HHonors points. Maybe getting it directly from HGVC has a different offer. I don't remember the details anymore :)

But this is still a good deal, even if not as good.
