VRBO calling and asking if we want to deposit our Interval week with them?

If you bite, there will be a small fee you need to pay. More sophisticated ones will need your bank, zelle or paypal info. Then they go down the usual scams for those - either steal but usually the overpayment/refund scam.
And since what you are doing is against II policy they know that you will be reluctant to say anything or get any help.
"Hey I was trying to scam I.I. and got scammed myself"
