Hi everyone

I would love everyone to vote the 5 best timeshare companies in the USA from
1 to 5.

Khalil - we already have an area for timeshare ratings that includes that info. - however, you have to be a TUG member to access it.

You can actually SEE the ratings for free without being a member:

http://tug2.com/RnR/ResortsGrid.aspx

It's leaving ratings/reviews and reading the reviews (just one of many things that's worth many times the minimal membership fee!) that you have to pay to see.

Thanks for pointing that out, Michael!

Companies

Sorry if I am wrong, but the OP seems to me to be asking for the top companies not resorts. Is there ratings for that?

I am confused about that. How many companies are there?

By looking at the list of top review scores listed above, it's not much of a stretch to discern the top TS companies/developers.

What the list of 'top' resorts doesn't, and can't address is the subjective 'value' vs. cost/MF. In other words, what may be the perfect TS for me may not work for the OP. Some of them might be great for someone who resides in S. Africa and has 3-4 weeks of vacation a year and 3 school-age kids, and absolutely no appeal to retirees in N. America who prefer travel at times when kids are in school.

Similarly, resorts smack dab in the middle of 6 championship golf courses or tennis facilities have little to attract the family whose vacation desires revolve around beach or theme park activities.

It's not all about square footage and jetted tubs and granite counters and stainless appliances.

Since "timeshare companies" could refer to any timeshare related business, "timeshares" makes more sense.

Could mean many things - the OP needs to clarify what this is about. Too much speculation going on.

If you take out all the independent resorts, how many timeshare companies are there anyway? At least large ones. Maybe 10? Starwood, Marriott, DRI, Hilton, DVC, VRI, Westgate, Bluegreen. Those are the ones I can think of. Also, what is meant by "best"? Resort quality, best to work for, best customer service, cheapest?

Yeah, I can't believe that people are speculating about something on TUG! ;)

Truth is, Khalil is long gone and nobody really knows what this thread is about.

Word choice unclear...

<snip>...the OP seems to me to be asking for the top companies not resorts. <snip>

Or, OP may not be aware that U.S. timeshares are not necessarily associated with any "company" at all.
Note that the resort "listings" of the OP are actually all vacation clubs / RTU memberships (i.e., all maybe being regarded by the OP as "companies"?). The actual intent of the OP's inquiry might just be lost in the unclear "phrasing" of the question posed.

It's likely that English- and certainly not American English is the OP's native language. S/he may have simply trying to phrase the question properly and inadvertently made it less clear than it could have been.

Nevertheless, it appears we've scared him off. Sometimes these things happen.

Howzzat?....

The OP has since posted other questions in other TUG forums about other unrelated topics (e.g., attending Wastegate presentations), so although the effort to provide necessary clarification on this particular topic may not be forthcoming, I don't really see how s/he could have been "scared off".

Yeah, I saw that. It appears our friend Khalil has been bitten by the timeshare bug.

Looking at their list of resorts, it would seem they were bitten long ago?

I, like many other here, deal with people who like/love to travel - some are from near or far off lands or are homegrown. And some have very limited funds and others are PIA frugal - hard to tell which a poster really is verses claiming to be.

But as regular folk who own these timeshare for vacationing, NONE come without maintenance fees, costs to get to our vacation resorts and costs with the associated stays away from home. Yes, we all make decisions to BUDGET and USE our hard earned currencies --- BUT we accept that travel is above clearly with more expensive in costs than what we incurred while sleeping on other's sofas and eating at the local soup kitchens.

And then there are OTHERs who think we should host them to a heavily DISCOUNTED extended stay in the very best places. And I have had teenage exchange students stay with me - and hosted them - but it was in my home and they got to eat the meatloaf, Mac & Cheese and grilled hot dogs right along with me and the family while sleeping the spare bedroom.
