I recently purchased a Westin / Vistana timeshare on the "secondary" market. It closed May 15,2021. I am still waiting for Vistana to put it into their system. How long has it been taking Vistana to process their paperwork? Thanks

When did the title company send you a copy of the registered deed?

It is taking 60-90 days right now.

Vistana can take a very long time with a resale contract- months. The 2nd time I purchased resale, I got a tip on TUG to forward the recorded deed from the broker and your personal information (including your current contract # if you are already a Vistana owner) to titlechanges@vistana.com. This expedited the process.

I had issues with my resale purchases as well, first one took over 6 months due to some backend error about the seller having multiple contracts and Vistanas old/antiquated systems not being able to split the weeks via resale properly. I had to have my purchase escalated a few times. When you call (number to book over the phone) ask to speak to Account Resolution ... that department will need to file a ticket with IT to get errors in their systems sorted out (this took 3 months). Hopefully this helps

Does this process still work, to email the recorded deed and your personal info to titlechanges@vistana.com? Someone on another post said that the contact email and phone numbers previously for Vistana may no longer be valid since Marriott came into the picture.

I think all of the old phone numbers now forward to and through Owner Services. Not sure about the email, but doesn't hurt to try. I suspect the closing companies still have an email address to send their title change paperwork to.

Just another point of information.

My friend purchased an SDO week on June 15th. The deed recorded on June 22nd, and it showed up in his account today.

Does it take longer if it is a mandatory resort? Are you sure the resort has all the information?

I did about the same. Just saw the deed in my account last week. My is WKORV EOY ocean view. You should see it shortly.

Wow. That’s a pretty good timeline.

Way too long. We are still waiting too. Were told we should see information the beginning of August.

Once escrow has closed, but the new week is not in the online system, does that mean a new owner can still make a reservation by calling, or is the ability to make a new res completely on hold?

I had the agency I purchased from book my week prior to closing. It went well. That week is now listed on my dashboard.
