(Listing it here in case anyone wants it. If No one takes it I'll go through the deedback program. )

FREE - You just pay 2024 Maintenance and Closing costs
First use is for 2024.

2024 Maintenance Fees are due in the amount of $625.49
Nothing is owed on the property

Deeded as villa 1796, week 38

Annual usage
Floats weeks 1-52
1 Bedroom, 1 Bath

This unit is free to anyone who is willing to pay the closing costs and 2024 maintenance fees. I have used Legal Timeshare Transfers a few times in the recent past. Very reasonably priced, very responsive, and fast closing. According to their website, a closing costs just $225 plus $15 postage plus recording fees which vary by county and sales price.

have you tried to do a free deedback to marriott? Contact exit.services@mvwc.com if not
They mention in the first sentence that they will go this route if they can't find a taker. IMO, I like it when people try to rehome these to a willing person than to give them back to the developer who will just soak them up in their massive trusts to sell more points to unsuspecting buyers for tens of thousands of dollars.

It would have to be Lakes or Cascades as those are the only two with 1BR units. Hopefully the OP can come back and confirm which one. Though I understand if you own either one you can book into the other.

Exactly what I’d like to do if there is a willing taker.

Is this considered a part of marriot vacation club now? I had heard about their merger, and I’m certainly interested if this gives full marriot access?

No, that time has passed. Also, this unit purchased on resale would not have been eligible for automatic Abound enrollment. The only way to have a resale brought back into the system now would be to make an additional direct purchase from Marriott after your resale has been transferred to your name. This unit can still be a decent interval trader, however, you will need to pay for your own interval membership.

If you want full Marriott access, you will want to look into resale Club Points. You could always make a purchase of a Vistana unit at a mandatory property and use the Star Options associated with the week in the VSN.

Is starOption worth it?

I believe it is. but you would have to figure that out yourself
The value is to book within StarOption portfolios, right? Can I book several low value weeks and trade up? Sorry still learning.

At 8 months before your desired check in, you can book up to 21 nights at any resort in the VSN. low value weeks have the same maint fees as high value weeks so its always best to get the prime weeks. You'll get more star options with the prime units for the same maint fees. it does not matter which resort your week is deeded, at 8 months you can book any resort in the VSN (Star Option portfolio) with your SO.

Make sense. I buy a high value week to get more points with the same maintenance fee. Can I then book several low value weeks and deposit them into II?

no, you deposit what you own. you don't book anything then deposit. you just deposit your Vistana week. you have until 12/31 of that year to deposit. Vistana deposits work differently. your trade value is calculated differently, it's blended.

Thanks. I guess the value is the mini-system itself and if I mainly want to trade out of it (can I enroll in II?) might be easier just to buy a deeded week?

Someone can confirm, but I don't know if resale voluntary SVR can trade through II. I know they can trade through RCI, but can they be dual affiliated. If you buy a mandatory resale or a week otherwise in VSN, then it can use the mini system with StarOptions.

@iftravel I think it might be better if you hop on over to the Vistana section. Look around, read and ask questions. Once you understand the system, you can come and purchase over here.

Yes, SVR is dual affiliated with II and RCI. SVR can trade in either one.

That is what I thought, but I thought I had read somewhere that if it is in VSN then it can only be used in II. Is that true?

The history is a bit longer than that. When I first acquired my SVR, it could only be traded in RCI. I got several correspondence to join SVN and that I could also use II to trade as II membership is paid for by SVN fees. But if you buy an "unenrolled" week, I believe you can pick RCI or II.
