Vista Encantada Spa Resort and Residences

I also read that the construction started. Some people found it very annoying.
We traded through II and have reservations for April 26. We don’t plan on buying AI because we don’t drink much. Does anyone know more about the shuttle to town? Is the charge $5. per person or per party? Is it round trip or each way? Also wondering if there are any good restaurants close by. Any information we can get is appreciated.

We didn't do the AI but we did ride the shuttle to the "sister resort, Marina Fiesta" once. The cost was per person but I'm not sure we were charged. We stayed out late and took an Uber back. Uber was less for the 4 of us than the shuttle. To leave by Uber you have to take a golf cart to the road. To return by Uber it's return to the reception area. Taxi's are not that much either and are on site.

The only restaurant we really liked was the one on the top floor of the Vista Encantada. The taco bar at the Hacienda Encantada was pretty good too. The pizza was so so but it's on site.

There is a grocery store nearby. Costco is fairly close too. Both are too far to walk to, imo.

I wonder how the construction will look like November next year. I picked up an exchange earlier for first week of November.
As for the shuttle, I don't know. I am the kind that gets a rental car while in Cabo.

Same here with the car but the Vista Encantada is too far of a walk from the night clubs. Usually, we are walking distance to Cabo so having drinks and walking back works. One thing I liked was having free parking at the Marina Fiesta when staying at the Vista Encantada.

I don't think that any of the construction will block the views but it could be noisy during the work times.

We are getting a roundtrip suburban to and from the airport to the resort. But we will need an early return to the airport on a Tuesday for just one person. Would taking a taxi (without advance reservations) be reasonable for them from Vista Encantada for an 11:23 am flight at SJD?

A taxi to the airport will cost approximately $90US. That’s what the cost was last year anyway.

Thanks, for 7:30 in the morning does anyone know if it would it likely be easy to just go down to the resort lobby and get a taxi from the resort to the airport (rather than in advance I mean). I know it's $90, but that would be convenient if easily available. (I am having a hard time getting clear info on anything from the resort right now via phone calls for some reason.)

Taxis are normally available at the resort. I wouldn't wait until that morning though. Just tell them a few days beforehand and they will be willing to make sure a taxi is available. This resort is amazing and customer service is exceptional. They will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

VE Update: Wife and I (and two guests) just returned from a week at VE, part of the Hacienda Encantada. Thanks to the heads-ups on this thread (and Tripadvisor review complaints) about the Four Seasons construction next door, we arrived at the resort on Saturday around noon, and I was able to get an upgrade into the two-BR residences on the other side of VE. The Residences are fabulous, including a view of Los Arcos from our porch, a large pool, multiple grills, fire-pits and Jacuzzis in a yard that was share by just six two-BR units. We were the only ones using the grills for the week we were there; there was little yard/pool activity at all beyond our group for the entire week. Per the taxi/uber drivers / hotel staff we talked with, pre-Xmas tourism was noticeably down, which didn't surprise me. Sad for them, but obviously good for us; we enjoyed a wonderfully private / quiet week there.

The overall Hacienda Encantada property (including VE and The Residences) is massive / beautiful and great for early-to-bed / early-to-rise hikers like us; less active travelers may find the resort difficult. The chapel at the top of the property looking over the Sea of Cortez is a perfect spot to catch the sun rise and watch the whales that come closer in the early A.M..

Having stayed at Hacienda about 5-6 years ago, we had foreknowledge of the sketchy food; our two guests confirmed this again via a couple of trips to property restaurants. The one pleasant surprise in this regard was the VE sky pool restaurant (Attico), where we all had fish and/or shrimp tacos (few places in Cabo mess these up) after 4 PM one afternoon, when the area was uncrowded and the restaurant wasn't busy. Relatively pricey food as expected, but pretty decent. And the view from here is pretty spectacular.

Warning for anyone considering purchasing at VE: Many if not all of those units are going to have that view blocked by the Four Seasons under construction. Halfway through our stay, a rendering of the finished product was posted at the construction site and clearly visible from the VE sky gym windows. It's going to be somewhere between 6-8 stories high.

Hello! We are arriving in a few weeks and I'm so concerned about what I've been reading regarding all the construction noise in the Vista building. How did you go about getting upgraded to the residences? First time visiting Cabo.. we're going on an exchange and I'm going to be so bummed if it's noisy and the view is off a construction site. Thanks for any tips!

Our trip is November next year in a 4 bedroom. I do not think it will be residences for me.as there are not that many residences that have 4 bedrooms. Any tips?

What seemed to work for us was arriving well before the formal 4 PM check-in time and before the 2-6 PM rush hits -- and being polite to the staff. We were initially assigned a room on the 2nd floor of VE, which was waay too close to the construction noise that was very audible in the lobby, an open area on the fourth floor. After checking in and getting that room assignment, we kept ourselves visible in the lobby, waited patiently, and then I wandered over to the end, looking over the balcony. Then I asked the woman who checked us in if she could move us to another floor, due to the noise. She responded that they were getting complaints, that she'd see what she could do; I told her to take her time. She motioned me over 20 minutes later, and obviously did us even better than my initial request.

I think upgrades depend largely on your timing, i.e., their occupancy that week, and how early you can arrive. If VE is indeed getting a lot of these requests, you need to be one of the first requestors, ideally when they aren't too busy.

Guessing it can and has been done; The Residences neighborhood has more than a few multiple BR sizes and units. But your chances obviously depend on whether a 4BR unit is available during your week, and your timing. Good luck!

There are only two 4BR Residences. To my knowledge, only one of them is available for usage. We have stayed in that one and it is amazing. You can hunt down my post with pictures from when we stayed there a couple of years ago. The other 4BR Residence is lived in full time by the owner of both 4BR Residences. Be aware that there is an upgrade charge to move from the timeshare portion of the resort to the Residences. We paid $1800 to upgrade to the 4BR two years ago. It was worth it. The upgrade charge would vary most likely, based on the week.

I'm not sure when your week is in November but if it's Thanksgiving week, I would tend to believe it will be impossible to upgrade into the 4BR Residence that week. But, it doesn't hurt to ask.

In relation to getting a potential upgrade into the Residences, you can contact customer service at the resort and inquire as to whether a 4BR Residence is available for the week you are going to be there. If so, they may be willing to process the upgrade for you when you inquire but you will need to pay the upgrade fee then, not when you arrive.

There is also a 4BR Penthouse as part of the timeshare portion of the resort that is incredibly nice as well. That would have an upgrade fee as well but worth it in my opinion.

Hope this helps!

I will be going second week in November.
Interestingly, the resort's official website only list two types of 4 bedroom units, the Residences and the Penthouse. No other 4 bedroom is listed.
What will be my unit be if not the 4 bedroom Penthouse?

I can’t tell you what your unit would be but I know there are 4BRs that are not the Penthouse Unit and not in The Residences.

Thanks for the info! Was there any charge for your upgrade away from the construction?

Does anyone have a phone number to call and enquire about moving buildings. I know it's a long shot and there may be an upgrade charge but it may be worth a try.

Best way to enquire would be to use this email: reservations@haciendaencantada.com

I'm not sure when you're going but when you get closer to your visit, you should get an email from your concierge. When you get that you can ask about an upgrade into the Residences.

We're here now. I would never come back to this property until the construction is done. It's brutal. There is no enjoying the patio from 8-6.

Is it all parts of the resort? Any idea on completion?

I should have asked about an upgrade to Residences. I only asked to be put as quiet as possible. And to their defense.. would be no units in this building. It won't matter where you are. Good news is the rooftop pool is nice. It's definitely quieter there.

Now questioning my decision to exchange into this resort for November 2026.
Thanks for the info.

I ended up asking this morning for any options to move and they graciously moved us to the residences for the last few nights. I just couldn't take it anymore.. I'd share a video but not sure how!
