Villa del Palmar resale

Is there a difference if a contract says summer points. I thought points were points and the difference was what the unit was worth at the season you wanted to go. The VDP contract I’m looking at now says summer points.

Summer points have a lower value than winter points if we are talking about VPA. Our newest membership was gold winter weeks that transferred into VPA and I didn't see anything that read as winter VPA membership. Winter weeks are able to reserve summer weeks but not holidays unless the week membership is holiday.

IDK, you might have to call Resortcom to be sure.

I really enjoy the Flamingos resort and was going to go to a presentation but sounds like that is a bad idea. I am trying to figure out what I would need for a 4 to 6 week stay in a one bedroom or studio in February and November. How many points would I need is it possible to book this much time in a row? I see on Vrbo the cost of renting these places are crazy am I missing something. I am interested in buying

Flamingos in the winter has been a tough get. Many try to reserve winter when the reservation window opens at 2 years out. A winter studio week requires 1200 VPA points. A winter 1 bed week requires 2200 points. The maintenance fee is about $0.51 is what I think, it could be a little more, making a studio cost about $600 and 1 bed cost about $1100.

Really, it's not costly when compared to other resort systems but everyone seems to like the amenities at Flamingos so winter reservations are hard to get and developer rentals are outrageously high. You could try the Villa del Palmar buy sell and rent page.

I just went to the Facebook Group for Villa Group Resales... and if you sit down with a cup of coffee and read carefully there are several EXCELLENT deals posted by people who essentially just want to have someone take it for way little $. Very simple transaction. They even have the transfer contract posted.

"I want to sell my membership for $5000.00 as we can't afford to go anymore since retirement. We have a gold contract, which allows for 2 weeks a year. It can be used all except Christmas to New Year week. It is available at Villa Groups such as Villa Del Arco Cabo, Villa Del Palmar Cabo, Villa Del Palmar Flamingos, Villa Del Palmar Puerto Vallarta, Villa Del Palmar Cancun. Also Loreto. Our home base is VDA. We have a 2 Bedroom. It is paid in full. Annual maintenance fee is$1166.00. New owner pays $250 transfer fee. Contract good until March 8, 2038."

Here is the link to the group. (There is also a 2000 point deal recently listed for $17500 which is nuts, but they haven't yet figured out that you practically must give these away.)

With this sale do your benefits move with as well is it possible to book more than 2 weeks per year? Can i use this at Villa Del Palmar Flamingo’s? Are these units lockouts? How many years in the contract do you have left? Can i book 2 yeas out? I guess i have lots of questions sorry but very curious and interested.

Elite benefit don't transfer regarding VPA memberships. Our newest membership was a free resale that transferred into 5900 VPA points. I can get 17 nights in a one bed at Flamigos with this. To do a month in a one bed at Flamingos you would need about 12,000 VPA points.

With our 5900 VPA points I can reserve a month by banking or borrowing points to accumulate enough points to make the reservation.

I have never paid attention to that. If I have enough points I can book it online. We have booked both summer and winter with both contracts. I do believe you can only book Christmas New Years holiday times if you have bought the premium holiday boom boom sizzle package.

Wouldn't a VPA membership that shows summer points only mean the amount of points it takes to make a reservation in the summer season ? Summer season requires less points than winter season so if an ad said one bed summer season I'm thinking it's a membership that hasn't enough points for a full week in winter.

Bill is it difficult to book in for winter months and you suggesting buying secondary market does not create and problems. I have a few I have purchased on secondary market in Scottsdale with no issue.
Can you borrow from other years to gain more access?

Lookin at a contract for sale that says
certificate of Villa Preferred Access Membership

Club Caribe Villa del Palmar
What is Club Caribe
Thanks

It is difficult to book Flamigos or the Arco in the winter a year out. You need to reserve at 24 months out if you really want that winter week. All VPA memberships and most gold winter week memberships allow the 24 months out reservation window. Both VPA and Gold memberships can borrow from up to 5 future years up until the contract RTU expires. You can bank up to 5 years up until the membership expires. Once the membership expires any weeks or points in the account expire.

There were three owners of the original Villa Group. They all own the original resorts together but have also created their own brands. Club Caribe is one of the brands under the Taffer Resorts. Club Caribe points are Club Points and have access to the original Villa Group properties as well as the new resorts in that system. The link below is old but has decent information.

For me, Cancun is too far of a flight. I like Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. VPA works well for what I want.
