Viewing 2023 Formula 1 races from Elara - November, 16-18th

I didn't think there was a "b" anymore with Hilton Club?

So you can only book Elara bHC 9 months in advance? How do owners get booking preference? Does it give an owner resort reservation window preference like NYC?

Correct! And Elara bHC doesn't have a preferential reservation window for owners like other bHC properties.

Hilton changed their nomenclature but I still use bHC to differentiate from HGV and HVC. And on the HGV website/app bHC points are still called "By Hilton Club Points".
Basically, they changed and many of us here didn't, for consistency across threads and time.

Cheers.

We attended F1. Had a great time. We got lost at times with track diversions and many staffers were also confused because the town is reconfigured but overall we got where we needed to go. F1 directional app was frozen at times. Will be fixed in future as they work out the kinks. Less riffraff in blocks off the strip so felt safe.

Room had great view of Harmon although we bought grandstands one night and watched the final race at a non-HGVC complimentary lounge. It was great to know we had this room view as a backup and watched the first night practice at 2am.

HGVC pool F1 viewing party was fun. HGVC put on a class act on this event. Great food - e.g. tender tri-tip, beef and chicken skewers. Full open bar with good brands open all night. Food for dinner and then another round at 9:30 - midnight.

Former Creed singer was good but a bit somber for a crowd that was craving party music and dancing. Loved Joey Fatone & Friends. AJ from Back Street Boys also was there. Really enjoyed concert hearing hits from NSync and boy bands. Also great DJs and dancing.

We had a preso. Low pressure. Rep nice but told some half-truths which we ignored. Out in 50 minutes. Got to see the new Elara bHCs. VERY NICE but pricey given none of our deeds can be applied toward Elara. Apparently Elara only begets Elara.
thank you - if my sister goes staying in our room on a guest cert, and isn't an owner, will she be eligible (if same offer as last year)?

IDK...If you get an email you can then call and inquire.

I do not recall exact cost. We had 5 in our party. The offer was for 2 (or perhaps 4) I asked to add to our party and they agreed for extra $. I do not remember exact amt. Offer for 2 was best. We were only ones who had to attend preso. If they asked for others that would have been a deal breaker.

Our cost was about $450 - $500 for 5 ppl for 3 evenings buffet, concerts, and large screen viewing. The food and alcohol was name brand and top notch - open bar.

We tended to eat and watch concert but would travel to various lounges, bleachers seats or room to watch race. You can go in and out with wristbands.

They also had a lounge for direct viewing with food and it was more $$. Compared to our nosebleed grandstand seats for Fri qualifiers at $1500 for 5 and no food. It was a steal. About $30/night/pp to feed and entertain 5 adults compared to markups on strip was well worth it.

@calCalTraveler

The HGVC landing page now shows an F1 package for $3500 pp. Is this what you bought last year (now repriced, subject to a teensy bit of inflation :p )? Or did you buy something different?

last year, it started high but then dropped as it got closer to race time....

Just received first F1 email promo for 2024. Only $3500/pp for the clubhouse. No Elara Terrace Party tickets yet. That's what we bought. We watched the race elsewhere.

They are desperate to sell tickets in general for the race, and I would seriously consider making a check of Sam's Club or Costco in Vegas during September/October since I've heard that Austin had discounted tickets at warehouse clubs in the past.

i see this posted in July -

is this what you did?

An unforgettable weekend of immersive action awaits you, whether you’re trackside or not. If you’re not an F1® fan (yet), Hilton Grand Vacations still offers unparalleled experiential travel in the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World.

Enjoy private performances through HGV Live! at the Elara Terrace in the Hilton Grand Vacations Zone. See 80s band STARSHIP featuring Mickey Thomas Thursday evening, listen to LOCASH’s country music stylings Friday night, and get low on the dance floor with rapper and singer Flo Rida Saturday.

These shows offer access to Las Vegas’ nightlife during one of the year’s biggest events — just in case you prefer melodies to motors. Plus, HGV Live! concerts are exclusive to Hilton Grand Vacations Members and Guests, so enjoy a more private evening with the stars. Learn more about these concerts and other HGV Ultimate Access events.

Managed to snag a "By Hilton Club" 1BR for race weekend. Any idea what kind of view I can expect? It looks like all of these rooms have balconies like the 2BRs? Any experience would be much appreciated!

Think the ultimate access event is f1? Given im booking/staying that weekend?

Wondering if it's better to wait for an in-person offer at check in?

I may have to fly in Saturday morning of all things to meet the rest of my crew, and if cabs/Uber/Lyft are crazy expensive I will get public transportation as close as I can and walk.

for those who have been, how do you cross Harmon to get to Elara? Normally I would walk up Audrie St but not sure how or where to cross Harmon, obviously the road will be closed.

I could also take a bus to the monorail, catch it at MGM to Paris LV, seems kind of expensive for a short ride.

There are detours on bus routes so for example the Deuce runs up the Strip only to Trop, then right on Trop to Paradise, then north on Paradise.

Aren't all the normal street overwalks still open? Qualifying and racing also happens at night. Most roads are reopened by 6am each day.

bump

landing at the airport around 3 pm.

From prior experience can you get a ride share and how close can they get you to Elara?

I did a cab/uber from LAS to the strip in 2023 (there was a healthy F1 surcharge). Last year I rented a car to avoid the madness and long wait times, plus it wasn’t much more expensive to rent a car than Ubers cost.

They usually close down the roads for “hot track” status at 5 pm, so if you land and can get straight to an Uber they should be able to get you right to the Elara.

If arriving during a hot track time I would get dropped off at the Aria/City Center and then take the bridge across Harmon to the Cosmopolitan. You can then cross Las Vegas Blvd using the bridge then go through the Miracle Mile mall to get to Elara. My guess is this would be much cheaper than having to go the long way around and take the traffic bridge at Flamingo/Koval.

The attached pdf file shows the traffic flow plan from last year in purple during hot track times. It was much better than 2023 when they had two way traffic cycling though, but it is much less direct. I haven’t been sent any traffic information for this years F1.

Edited to add: it looks like they have posted the different transportation routes and the impacts for this year at the following site: pretty much the same as last year from what I can tell. https://lvgp-transportation-info-lvgp.hub.arcgis.com/pages/other_resources?ipid=promo-link-block1

thanks that's very helpful!

Only 2 more days! :p

After action report! How was it?

I was at Elara at the end of October just before the pool closed, when HGV grandstand construction was in full swing.

i flew in for under 24 hours (prior engagement elsewhere) meeting Mrs and my sister and some friends. my sister is the F1 expert so she educated mrs letsgobobby and myself on all the finer points. we had dinner at Zaytinya at 6 then walked back to Elara just as the race started. We had two rooms and the 1 br junior suite plus on floor 56 had a birds eye view of the entire grandstand area. I posted a photo in the balcony thread.

Regarding getting to the strip, I did walk/run from the airport. Unfortunately they closed off Harmon at Koval so after getting so close to Elara I had to run all the way back to Paradise then Trop then the strip, approximately doubling my route from 2.7 to just under 5 miles. but it was perfectly fine and there was plenty of buzz and activity to keep me entertained.

Other than the road closures, how difficult was it to navigate the crowds and the immediate area (on-property, Miracle Mile, etc.)?
